Eligibility Criteria for BDS Admission in Jammu and Kashmir

  1. In general, candidates must have passed Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in their 10+2 (or equivalent) examination with a minimum of 50% of the possible marks, or 40% for reserved categories. 
  1. Additionally, they must have passed the NEET test and been listed on the merit list that was created by the NEET results. 
  1. In addition to being residents of Jammu and Kashmir, candidates must be at least 17 years old by December 31st of the admission year.

Application Procedure

  • Step 1: Registration

Candidates can register on the BOPEE website www.jkbopee.gov.in  and click on the link/button “Click to Apply” under the heading Online Applications and section NEET–UG. 

  • Step 2: Scanning and Uploading of Documents

Upload all the required documents, along with the dimensions mentioned, your signature, and a photograph.

  • Step 3: Registration Fee Submission

Pay the registration fee and print the Application Form.

Counselling Process for BDS Admission in  Jammu and Kashmir

Counselling Authority:
BDS Admission in Jammu and Kashmir is based on the NEET-UG  score of the candidate, and the whole admission and counseling process is done by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Examinations (JKBOPEE). 

Step 1 (Preparation of Merit List):

After registration, document verification, and record updating for applicants who passed the 2025 NEET test, BOPEE will create a Provisional Merit List that includes the candidates’ category status.

Step 2 (Online Filling of Preferences):

The Board has created an online preference form to allocate seats in the colleges and institutions.  Candidates must submit their biodata and preference form online.

Step 3 (Seat Allocation):

Seats are allotted based on merit, category, and the choices filled by the candidates.

Rounds of Counseling:

In Jammu & Kashmir, dental (BDS) admissions through NEET UG are typically conducted through four rounds of online counseling. These rounds include registration, choice filling and locking, seat allotment, result declaration, document verification, and reporting to the allotted college. 

  • Round 1: All candidates who were given a seat in the first round based on merit-cum-preference must complete the requirements and enroll in the college and course within the allowed time frame.  i.e., submitting original documents by the checklist and any additional documents or commitments that the relevant college or institution may request.
  • Round 2 and 3: New registration is required for Round 2 and 3 if the candidate didn’t get a seat in Round 1.
