The BDS admission in Mumbai, Maharashtra is managed by the State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell), Mumbai, and is strictly based on NEET-UG 2025 scores. Both government and private dental colleges in the state participate in the centralized counselling conducted by the CET Cell.

After successful registration, the document verification process is carried out online, though in some cases, physical verification at designated centres may be necessary.

The seat allotment is conducted in multiple rounds—Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round—and is based on the candidate’s NEET rank, merit position, preferences, category, and domicile. 

Once a seat is allotted, candidates must download their allotment letter, report to the respective college within the given time frame, submit the original documents, and pay the first-year tuition fee to confirm their admission.

  • The candidate must be an Indian National.
  • The Candidates must be domiciled in Mumbai
  • They should be medically fit.
  • The candidate must have passed the SSC or equivalent examination.
  • The candidate must have passed the qualifying examination, i.e. Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC/12th Standard) or equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • A candidate belonging to the Open Category must have obtained not less than 50% (i.e. 150 out of 300) marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) Examination.
  • A candidate belonging to a constitutional reservation must have obtained not less than 40% (i.e. 120 out of 300) marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) Examination.
  • A candidate belonging to the open category must secure not less than 50 percentile marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) taken together at NEET UG.
  • A candidate belonging to a constitutional reservation must secure not less than 40 percentile marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) taken together in the NEET UG.
  • The candidate has to fulfil the qualifications and eligibility criteria as notified by the Central Government/Dental Council of India from time to time.
