Admission Procedure

UG Courses (B.E)

In the Atria Institute of Technology Bangalore, admission to the Bachelor of Engineering is made through CET, COMED-K or management quota.

Common Entrance Test (CET): 

• For the Candidates who are domiciled in Karnataka. 
• Karnataka Examination Authority conducts the examination for the UG courses, including B.E.
• Every year, in the month of January, the  Online Application window generally starts.
• The CET exam is conducted in April. 
• By the month of June, the Online seat allotment starts. 
• The selection process will be completed by August, and the class starts.
• Of the total intake, 45% of the seats are filled through CET.

COMED-K:

• The COMEDK Examination can be attended for the students of Karnataka & Non-Karnataka Students.
• COMEDK (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka).
• The exam is usually conducted in May.
• 30% of the total seat intake is through the COMEDK Examination.

Management Quota:

• This is for students from Abroad as well as from India.
• Individual counselling and Merit are the main basis of the selection process.
• In April, the formalities for admission start.
• 25% Of the total seats are for Management Quota.

PG Course (M.Tech)

Admission to the Master of Technology is through two quotas, PGCET and Management Quota.

Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET):

• The PGCET Examination is conducted by the KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority). 
• The PGCET is a gateway examination to various Post Graduate courses offered by Private, Aided & Un-Aided, And Government Institutions in the months of July / August.
• Of the total intake, 80% of the seats are allotted through PGCET Examination.

Management Quota:

• The Admission formalities will start in April.
• The candidates who qualified for PGCET or GATE are advised to visit Admission Office.
• The remaining 20% of the total seats are filled through management quota.

Eligibility Criteria

UG Courses (B.E):

• The students must have scored good marks in the SSLC examination and PUC exam conducted by the Pre- university board of Karnataka state. 
• Any other exam recognised as equivalent to it by the VTU is also eligible.
• All the candidates must get at least 45% of aggregate marks in Physics and Maths as mandatory subjects and Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Electronics as elective subjects in the qualifying examination.

For the case of students from SC/ ST/OBC (Cat – 1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B):

• The eligibility criteria are the same except for the percentage of marks required. 
• The candidates should score at least 40% of aggregate marks in Maths and Physics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination.

PG Courses (M. Tech):

• The candidate should have passed the Bachelor’s Degree to get admission to the Post Graduate (M.Tech) Course.
• The course should be a 4-year, and the candidate must have scored a minimum CGPA decided by the college. 
• In the case of SC, ST and Category-I candidates, the CGPA eligibility will differ.
