Karnataka College of Nursing is a private college in Bangalore. It was established in 2003, under Karnataka Education Trust founded by Prof. Basavaraj Ramnaal.

  • Approved by Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi.
  • Approved by Karnataka State Nursing Council.

COURSES AVAILABLE IN KARNATAKA COLLEGE OF NURSING

In Karnataka College of Nursing, there are the following courses available for you:

  • Sc Nursing Course.
  • Sc Nursing Course.
  • Post Basic B.Sc Nursing.
  • GNM Nursing.
  • D Nursing – Duration of the course is a minimum of 2 years from the date of registration (3 years for external candidates) and a maximum 5 to 6 years.

ADMISSION AND ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Here, I will help you to know about the admission & eligibility criteria which you should know to get admission in the college.

If you are eligible for admission in the college, you can either apply it online after visiting the website of the college or directly to the college and get the Application form. You should send the scanned copies of the necessary documents to the college.

If you want admission in the college, then you should have the following eligibility for different courses:

  • BSc. Nursing Course.

You should have completed the age of 17 on or before 31st December of the year of admission and should have passed 10+2 with Science (PCB) & English with an aggregate of 45% marks from the recognized board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or any other equivalent Board. And it is 40% for SC/ ST candidates.

You should be medically fit.

  • MSc. Nursing Course.

You should be a Registered Nurse or Registered midwife of equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.

You should have passed B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing/ Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks and should have completed it from an institution recognized by the INC. You should have a minimum of one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing and minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.

You should be medically fit. There is a 5% relaxation of marks in the case of SC/ST candidates.

  • Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Course.

You have passed Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate or 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognized university. You must have completed it before 1986. You should not be above 48 years of age on 31st December of the year of admission.

For this course, you should have a diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery and should be a registered nurse.

You will also have to be medically fit.

A good personal and professional record is needed too.

  • GNM Nursing Course.

You should be within the age bar of 17 to 35 of age for getting admission.

For admission to the GNM course, you have to pass 10 +2 with Science subjects and English and must have scored an aggregate of 40% of marks. You should have passed 10+2 from a recognized board under CBSE/ ICSE/ AISSCE/ SSCE/ HSCE or any other equivalent board.

You are eligible if you have qualified in the 10+2 Arts or Science examination or Health care Science – Vocational stream only conducted by National Institute of Open School with 40% marks.

You should have completed 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent board from the school and recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks.

You should be registered as ANM under State Nursing Registration Council.

You should be medically fit.

OTHER FACILITIES & FEATURES OF KARNATAKA COLLEGE OF NURSING

The library is spacious and fully computerized and has an e-library with a HELINET facility.

Digital classrooms are provided in the college.

The teaching methods include audio-visual classes and the use of advanced technology in classrooms and AV rooms.

There are labs that are equipped to provide you individualized learning and to encourage Research and training. You are also exposed to simulation units and manikins to facilitate the real-time learning experience.

Transportation facility is provided for daily transportation between college, hostel, and clinical facilities as well as transportation for special needs of students when required.

Separate hostels for girls and boys are provided and you opt for a single stay or two sharing rooms. There is 24 hr water, wifi and electricity available. They have a multi-cuisine mess that provides South and North Indian foods.

FEE STRUCTURE

  • Sc Nursing Course: Rs. 5.5 Lakh – total fees.
  • Sc Nursing Course: 1 Lakh – 1st-year fees.
  • Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: Rs. 10,000 – 1st-year fees.
  • GNM Nursing: Rs. 35,000 – 1st-year fees.
  • D Nursing: Rs. 1.5 Lakh – 1st-year fees.
