Role of BCECEB in Bihar MDS Admission
The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) is constituted under the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995. It conducts competitive examinations every year for admissions to various professional courses in the Medical, Engineering, and Agricultural streams in institutions across the state of Bihar. This board plays a central role in the admissions and counselling processes for MDS programs in Bihar.
MDS Admission in Bihar 2025: Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualifications:
- Candidates must have passed the BDS Examination from any recognized Dental College of Bihar listed in the Dental Council of India (DCI) schedule.
- For private dental colleges, eligibility criteria may be subject to modifications based on government directives.
- Permanent residents of Bihar who were admitted to BDS through a government-conducted competitive exam or CBSE (AIQ) before 15.11.2000 in Jharkhand-based dental colleges are also eligible.
- Completion of a rotatory internship on or before 31.03.2025 is mandatory, as per NEET MDS-2025 guidelines.
- Candidates must be registered with the Bihar State Dental Council or the Dental Council of India (DCI). If not, provisional admission may be granted, but permanent registration must be obtained within one month of admission to avoid cancellation.
2. Residential Criteria:
- The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- Non-residents of Bihar who have completed BDS from a recognized Bihar-based dental college are also eligible.
3. Age Limit:
- There is no upper age limit for appearing in PG Dental Counselling 2025.
4. Employment & No Objection Certificate (NOC):
- Candidates employed in government or private institutions must submit a “No Objection Certificate” (NOC) from their employer, ensuring study leave for the course.
- Government of Bihar employees may receive a provisional admit card, but they must submit a relieving certificate upon selection.
- If a candidate is unable to obtain an NOC, they must submit an affidavit stating that they will resign from their job and pursue MDS as a full-time student.
5. Training & Course Regulations:
- Selected candidates must register with the Bihar Dental Council/DCI within one month of admission and enroll with the respective university.
- The internship must be completed from a DCI-approved institution.
- No admissions or seat adjustments will be allowed after the last admission date set by DCI. Vacant seats will lapse.
- Migration/transfer after admission is not permitted.
- Candidates who were previously enrolled in an MDS course and take admission through PGDAC-2025 must withdraw from the previous course and refund the stipend received.
- Continuous absence of more than two months will result in the forfeiture of admission.
NEET MDS Admission in Bihar 2025: Documents Required
Original and Self-attested photocopies of the following documents, as required, are to be submitted at the time of Document Verification / Counselling.

- College leaving certificate.
