MDS Admission in Punjab 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Every aspirant needs to fulfil the NEET MDS 2025 eligibility criteria set by NBE.
- Candidates must be Indian citizens, Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), or Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs).
- The required Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree must be awarded by a university or institute in India under MDS course regulations 2017 issued by the Dental Council of India (DCI) and approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
- Candidates also must possess a provisional or permanent registration certification issued by DCI or Punjab State Dental Council.
- A 12-month rotatory internship is compulsory. Eligibility is withheld until the internship certificate is produced at the time of counselling.
NEET MDS eligibility criteria for foreign nationals
- Their basic Dental Qualification equivalent to BDS should be recognised by DCI
- Foreign nationals don’t need to have a temporary DCI registration at the time of examination.
- The temporary registration certificate by DCI will be issued on the condition that the foreign national must be registered as a medical practitioner in the candidate’s country.

- Online Registration: Students are required to register online on the official website of BFUHS and must submit the application along with an application fee of Rs. 5000 + 18% GST for General Candidates and Rs. 2500 + 18% GST for SC Candidates.
- Merit List: After the successful completion of the online registration and application submission there will be a display of the provisional merit list based on the candidate’s NEET Score.
- MDS Seat Matrix: There will be publication of details the number of seats available in each institute alongwith their allocation across different categories (e.g., All India Quota, NRI, and state quota candidates etc.).
- Security Deposit: Students are required to deposit the security fee as follows:

- Choice-filling round: Candidates are required to submit the online choices/ preferences of college/ Courses/Quota/ Category.
- Provisional Result: There will be a display of Provisional allotment/Result
- Deposition of the Tuition Fee: The applicants who are provisionally selected will report to the appropriate college for enrollment after paying the remaining money (six months’ charge after the security deposit has been subtracted) via the University Payment Gateway, which is accessible on the university website.
- Reporting to the allotted college/hospital for verification of original document and eligibility, followed by a medical examination.
NEET MDS Admission in Punjab 2025: Documents Required

Punjab NEET MDS Counselling 2025: The Complete Process
Here is the complete counselling process for Punjab NEET MDS Counselling 2025:
- Candidates are required to register online and complete all the formalities as mentioned above.
- Only registered candidates are eligible for the counselling no candidate may attend an online or in-person counselling session without first registering and paying the required fee by the deadline.
- Online counselling will be used for admission to postgraduate degrees in the 2025 session. Candidates would then physically report to the designated college or hospital.
- Candidates from reserved categories will be given preference in the open merit NEET PG exam if their scores are equal to or higher than the minimum cut-off.
- Candidates can obtain the provisional allocation letter from the university website after signing into their account. They must then present the letter to the designated college or hospital, together with all original documentation for eligibility verification.
- Once a seat has been assigned, paying the tuition does not provide you automatic admission or a seat. A candidate’s seat will be automatically cancelled if they do not show up to the college or hospital within the allotted period.
- Only in Round 1 of the counselling process will there be a free leaving and upgrade option.
- There will be 2 more rounds and a stray round for seats left and students have to register fresh for each round.
