These students can apply for foreign category seats at the AIIMS and other premium institutes.

And Students who have indian passports but have blood relatives (sponsors) who live outside India need to undergo NEET NRI Quota conversion.

Some documents are to be produced by the sponsor

  • NRI certificate – The sponsor must apply for an NRI certificate from the embassy of India of that foreign country
  • Affidavit of support stating-

Yes, I’m the guardian of this student, and he is a relative, and I’m ready to sponsor his/her NRI category fees throughout the program.

  • Visa of sponsor
  • Passport of sponsor
  • Document for the proof of the sponsor’s place of work (in some states)
  • Family tree signed by the official of the revenue department in India (Tehsildar)
  • Some documents from the family members living in India like the family tree should be prepared, which should be signed by the official of the revenue department in India (tehsildar)

To do this, the parents need to get a family tree certificate signed by the Tehsildar (a government officer from the local revenue department) of their area.)

After providing all of the above-mentioned documents, the student can get converted from the general category to the NRI category

Different states have different procedures for NRI category conversion, but some states, such as Karnataka, will provide only one chance for the category conversion from General to NRI in each academic year.
