Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan nursing college (for women) was established in 2006 under Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Charitable and Educational Trust.

The college emphasizes quality education and improving its facilities regularly. It has also been approved to conduct courses like M.sc nursing, post-basic B.sc nursing GNM and ANM from the Indian nursing council, Tamil Nadu, in 2011.

It is affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R medical university.

ELIGIBILITY

The eligibility criteria help you to decide if you are permitted to have admission to the college.

B.sc nursing 

• Age limit: above 17yr or should have completed the said age by December 31.
• Married women can apply too.
• Students who have secured a minimum of 45% in the twelfth board exams in the following subjects (physics, chemistry and biology) are eligible to apply.
• Candidates who have not qualified for the higher secondary examination conducted by the government of Tamil Nadu need approval from Dr M.G.R medical university.

P.B.B.sc nursing

 Students interested in P.B.B.sc nursing must have a diploma in nursing which is further approved by the Tamil Nadu nursing council.

Candidates who have completed GNM with a certificate from the state council are also permitted.

M.sc nursing

A qualification in B.sc nursing or P.B.B.sc from Tamil Nadu nursing council with a minimum of 1-year work experience is required.

Students from other universities need to provide a migration certificate and an eligibility certificate from Dr M.G.R medical university.

GNM

The candidate must be 17 years and should have cleared the twelfth board examination with a minimum of 40% in subjects including physics, chemistry and biology (PCB).

ANM

Age limit: 17-35 years

Anyone who has cleared their twelfth board examination is eligible to take up the admission.

ADMISSION

Once you have met the eligibility mentioned above requirements, you can move ahead with the admission process.

FACILITIES IN DHANALAKSHMI SRINIVASAN NURSING COLLEGE

The college has been pouring out ample facilities each year. They have constantly been working to provide the students with a better place to live in.

INFRASTRUCTURE

As stated earlier, the college building is four-storeyed surrounded by an ample amount of area filled with green grass and tall trees.

CLASSROOM

 The college provides wide and spacious classrooms with an open environment for teaching and learning. Every classroom is uniquely designed with a space for recreational minds. The classrooms are sufficiently ventilated, and each classroom is equipped with a large blackboard, comfortable furniture, OHP, public address systems and LCD.

AUDITORIUM

One of the driving features of this college, I must say, is the auditorium. It is well maintained and highly huge, accommodating about 500 people with a stage appealing to any performer’s eye.

This wouldn’t go without saying that the college has also equipped the auditorium with a centralized air conditioner and audio and digital surrounding.

SEMINAR HALL

 Apart from the auditorium, the college also has a seminar hall accommodating about 250 people. This facility can ultimately be utilized as an opportunity by both the students and faculty to share their knowledge with a larger crowd.

COMMUNITY HEALTH PROGRAMMES

Health is a fundamental right that every citizen of the country must have equal access to. We, as a college, have been addressing the problems of those communities deprived of primary health care facilities.

Our community health centre is situated in Pudhunaduvalur and also utilize Senge and Renganathapuram sub-centres.

We also have our students posted in the maternity wards in EB road and Sringaram under the urban posts. This provides the students with better exposure to the clinical field.

Various health awareness programmes upon immunization, communicable and non-communicable diseases and many other fields have engaged the students and enlightened the minds of the local population.

FIELD VISIT

The college has tied up with various other centres to expand its method of learning. It organizes field visits for the students of the college every year.

This place also offers an excellent living room with a television, and this is a place where the girls catch up after a stressful day. It also has a powerful prayer and study hall, which is accessible to all the students at any time.

The college also provides a large swimming pool for the students along with ATM counters.

It also has separate space for Andhra and Tamil cuisine based food. You can also expect 100% cleanliness as the college keeps a record of the hygenic environment maintained.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

The college has not only proven itself in academics but has also put in massive efforts to build interests, support and motivate students in extracurricular activities. They conduct events regularly, assuring maximum participation.

The college began with lamp lighting in 2007, wherein the lamp was lit by the eminent dignitaries followed by the nightingale, which was pledged to the students .this was believed as an event carried out to pass the knowledge from the teachers to the students.

A well-scheduled amount of time was allotted to the students to conduct cultural activities every year. All the students actively take part to prove their talents. This included both cultural and sports events.

Freshers day is another exciting event carried out every year; this is held to get the newcomers to get accustomed and bring out their talents. This has proved to create a healthy bond between the freshers and the seniors of the college.

ANTI-RAGGING POLICY

A disciplined atmosphere is created in the college, ensuring the absence of any unpleasant behaviour or conduct. The college has laid down an anti-ragging committee, a cell, and squad members to address such issues, which has extended support from the principal and the institute.

The campus is entirely devoid of physiological or psychological harm that can affect the mental status of the students. If one experiences any, they can immediately bring it to the notice of the authorities. The college will immediately take strict actions toward the accused.
