Admission Process for Bachelor of Technology Programs

• Selection is based on the results achieved through a Computer Based Test.
• Candidates should have appeared for the 10+2 exam (HSC, CBSE, ICSE) or Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination by a recognized board or High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva or General Certificate Education exam.
• After being selected based on rankings, students are required to engage in an online counseling session. During this session, they can indicate their preferences for a particular program, campus, and fee category.
• The fees paid towards the application and subsequent counseling are non-refundable.

Eligibility Criteria for Bachelor of Technology Programs

• Applicants must be either Indian citizens (resident or non-resident), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI). Proof of age must be submitted during the admission process.
• International applicants are required to apply directly using the International application form.
• Applicants seeking admission to Undergraduate Engineering programs should have achieved a minimum aggregate of 60% in PCM  (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) or PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) in their qualifying examination (Intermediate/ +2).
• Applicants from SC/ST or residing from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh, North Eastern states of India. The certificate should be submitted during the time of counseling.
• Regular ‘NIOS’ board candidates are also eligible to apply for the program.

Admission Process for Master of Technology Programs

• Students must apply online at www.vit.ac.in by paying a non-refundable application fee, including GST.
• Applicants must register for and participate in ‘VITMEE’ (Computer-Based Objective Test) at a designated test location/center.
• Once candidates have been shortlisted, they must specify their campus preferences.
• For final admission, candidates are required to submit an advance fee payment of INR 100,000.
• Students will not be considered for admission if they fail to pay the advance fees before the due date.

Eligibility Criteria for Master of Technology Programs

• Graduates with a full-time degree from a recognized institute are eligible, provided they have achieved a minimum aggregate of 60%. Those pursuing M.Tech. degree programs can also qualify with a first-class distinction.
• Students in their final semester or awaiting their final degree examination results in the current year are eligible to apply.
• Students must complete their final semester/ year exams before the selection counseling at Vellore Institute of Technology, Tamil Nadu.

• Applicants must have undergone full-time, regular, and formal education to apply for the course. Admission will be granted based on their performance in the qualifying examination (+2).
• A minimum aggregate of 65% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics is required for admission.
• Candidates from the SC/ST category and North-Eastern States of India can apply with a minimum of 55% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
