Admission Procedure

PhD

• Scholars aspiring for admission to the Research program are mandated to appear for the Eligibility Test by VTU.
• The Scholars will be evaluated on the basis of a presentation on their entrance test scores and the research topic.
• In front of the VTU-identified panel members, the presentation is to be made. 
• Once all rounds are completed, you will get admission.

Eligibility Criteria

UG Courses (B.E):

• The candidates must pass the Xth and IXth examinations conducted by the PU board of Karnataka state or any other exam recognised as equivalent by VTU. 
• They should get a minimum of 45% of aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics as mandatory subjects and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination.

For the case of candidates from SC/ ST/OBC (Category: 1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B):

• They should have passed the 10th and 12th examinations conducted by the Pre-University board of Karnataka state or any other review recognised as equivalent by the VTU. 
• They should get at least 40% of aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics as mandatory subjects and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Electronics optional subjects in the qualifying examination.

PG Courses (M.Tech):

• To get admission to the Master’s programs, the students should complete the Bachelor’s Degree from VTU or any other university recognised as equivalent by VTU.
• This must be a minimum Four-year course, and the student should have scored a minimum of 5.75 CGPA. 
• In the case of SC, ST and Category-I candidates, a minimum score of 5.25 CGPA has to be obtained.

PhD:

• The candidates should achieve a minimum of 55% marks in the M.Tech degree.
• The nominees are required to score well in VTU Eligibility Test.
• The one who qualifies for all the rounds will be allowed admission.

• Library

The college makes sure to provide access to quality resources in General and  Professional knowledge and effective services to support the academic needs of faculties and students. The library works from 8:45 am to 6:00 pm on Week Days and 8:45 am to 5:00 pm on Week Ends. Talking about the Total number of books available on the subject in the library, the college has titles of over 4500 and Volumes of around 27,300.

The total amount spent for the purchase of books during the previous financial year is Rs.110000/-. And the Amount allocated for the current year is Rs.600000/- for E-journals and Rs.500000/- for other Books. Also, the library has over 850 bound volumes of technical journals on the subject available in the library. Apart from this, there are question papers for all branches open, whether it be the Old and New syllabus or the revised syllabus. 

• Transport

The campus is merely 14 Km away from the heart of the city. And around 20 km from the suburban areas of the city. The City Engineering College Bangalore provides transportation for both its students and faculties. Also, the metropolitan city transport service runs buses from several places in the city to the college area. 210E,212, 213, 214, 216, etc., are some of the BMTC route numbers. 

• Vehicle Parking

Parking facilities are provided for both faculty and students of the college. The college has a spacious parking lot with two floors and basements. This is in the administrative block, which accommodates more than 500 two-wheelers and 100 cars. Parking is provided for parents and other visitors in the 5-acre ground during the time of any college events. This is on the North side of the gate.
