BDS Admission/Selection Procedure

  • The qualifying exam and written portion of the entrance exam scores will be used to create a merit list from which candidates for enrollment will be chosen.
  • A certificate on physical standards or fitness issued by a government medical officer with at least the level of assistant medical officer should be brought with the applicant at the time of admission.

BDS Eligibility Criteria

  • Only those applicants who have passed the qualifying Higher Secondary Examination administered by the Board of Higher Secondary Education of Kerala, or an equivalent, with a minimum cumulative score of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology are eligible for admission.
  • Candidates who can provide their community and income certifications received from the relevant Revenue Officers will be eligible for a 10% (5 points) mark relaxation. SC/ST candidates simply need to pass the test.
  • Candidates who passed the B.Sc. degree (three-year course) examination of the universities in Kerala or of any other university recognised by the universities in Kerala as equivalent to it with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, or Biochemistry as their main subject and any one or two of the aforementioned subjects as subsidiaries are also eligible for admission, provided they obtained not less than 50% marks for the main and subsidiary subjects taken together subjects.
  • It is not authorised to the round percentage of marks to the next whole number.
  • Candidates must have reached the age of 17 on December 31 of the year they are applying for admission to the programme. The minimum age restriction cannot be relaxed for any reason.
  • Candidates need to be of strong moral character and behaviour.

Documents Required for BDS

  • A certified copy of the pertinent page from the SSLC/ISC/CBSE certificate, which contains the date of birth, must be submitted with the application as proof of age.
  • Character certificate issued by the institution’s chief when last studied.
  • At the time of admission, candidates must provide the entrance test seat allocation order form and attested Photostat copies of all required documentation.
  • Upon admittance, all original documentation must be presented.
  • Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
  • Two current passport-size photos.

MDS Admission/Selection Procedure

  • Every academic year, a uniform NEET will be held in accordance with the rules set forth by the National Board of Examinations or any other body designated by the Central Government in this regard for admission to post-graduate dentistry programmes.
  • The Council shall have overall responsibility for the supervision, direction, and control of the NEET.

MDS Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant for enrollment to the Master in Dental Surgery programme must hold a recognised Bachelor in Dental Surgery degree from an Indian university or institution, be required to register with the State Dental Council, have obtained either provisional or permanent registration, and have completed the one-year mandatory rotatory internship programme at a dental college that has been approved or recognised by Dental Council of India.
  • For enrollment to post-graduate programmes offered during a specific academic year, candidates must achieve the minimal percentiles listed below, broken down by category:
    • 50 percentile for the general category.
    • 45 percentile for individuals with lower limb locomotor disabilities.
    • 40 percentile for Tribes, Scheduled Castes, and Other Backward Classes.

For NRI Candidates

  • The foreign national is subject to the requirements that they are duly licenced as a medical professional in the nation where they acquired their basic dental training and that their degree is accepted by the relevant state dental council or relevant body.
