Admission Procedure

Private engineering colleges in Karnataka involve a systematic process, from appearing for entrance examinations to submitting the required documents. Eligibility Criteria

• UG Courses (B.E):

For General Merit Candidates

• The candidates have to score well in the Xth examination and 12th examination.
• The 12th examination is organized by the Pre- university board of Karnataka or any equivalent examination by any state. 
• The student must score at least 45% of marks in Maths and Physics and any subjects Electronics/ Chemistry/ Biology/ Bio-Technology/ Computer Science.
• For the candidates in the category SC/ST & OBC (Cat-I, 2A, 2B, 3A 3B): The eligibility criteria is a minimum of 40% of total marks in the above subjects.
• If the marks obtained in Chemistry are less than the aggregate percentage for eligibility, the marks obtained in Biology/ Biotechnology/ Electronics/ Computer Science will be considered. 
• The candidate must attend and qualify for KEA / COMED-K, the entrance exams.

For Lateral Entry Scheme

• The candidate must qualify for any Diploma Exam or Equivalent entrance exam. 
• The candidate must get an aggregate minimum score of 45% marks in all subjects for the final year. 
• The students in the SC/ST category should get 40% marks.

• PG Courses:

Master of Technology (M.Tech)

• The candidate should complete the Bachelor’s Degree with good marks to get admission to the M.Tech degree.
• The completion of the bachelor’s degree should be four years.
• The applicant must score the CGPA decided by the Institution. 
• The CGPA eligibility might be different for the students of SC, ST, and Category-I candidates.
• The candidates must score 50% of marks for the B.E/B.Tech degree. And 45% for SC/ST Candidates. 
• The candidates’ reservation is only for Karnataka residents. 

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

• The candidate must have finished a bachelor’s degree with at least three years from any recognized university.
• The candidate must have attended and scored in the Qualifying or equivalent examinations.
• General merit candidates must score an aggregate minimum of 50 % marks, which will be taken together in all the main subjects, including languages.
• The total is taken by checking the marks in all years during the degree.
• For students from Category SC, st, and Category I, the percentage to be scored is 45. 
• The category application is only for students from Karnataka. 
• The candidate must have attended and passed any one of the entrance examinations.

• PhD/ Research

• The candidate must have finished a master’s Degree in Technology/ Engineering.
• The candidate should score 6.75 out of 10 CGPA or 60% marks at either the Master’s or Bachelor’s degrees.

Faculty of Management

• Students with regular PG degrees shall possess the MBA or equivalent from any recognized University. The candidate must have secured an aggregate mark of 60% for the master’s degree.
• Students who have completed the MBA Degree in Distance mode from UGC/DEB-approved Institutions can apply for a PhD.
• As per the UGC/AICTE regulations, the condition is that years of teaching, corporate experience, or research are required after completing the PG Degree.

• Candidates with regular-mode postgraduate degrees may apply for the PhD if they possess M.Sc. Degree in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geology, or MCA.
• Students who have completed PG degrees in other allied disciplines can also apply.
• The candidates must get a minimum CGPA of 6.755 out of 10 or 60 % aggregate marks at either the postgraduate or undergraduate Degree.

GATE Scholarship

• The SEA College of Engineering and Technology Bangalore gives scholarships to students who have attended and achieved good marks in the GATE Entrance Examination.
