AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences is one of the finest dental colleges in India. AB Shetty Dental College Mangalore was established in the year 1985. The college is formed under the NITTE Education Trust. AB Shetty Institute of Dental Sciences Mangalore is affiliated with the NITTE University and recognized by the Dental Council of India(DCI) and the Government of Karnataka.

AB Shetty Dental Institute is one of the best dental colleges in the country with well-equipped instruments and materials. AB Shetty Dental College and Hospital provide both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of dentistry.

This college is one of the well-equipped dental colleges in the country. They are very strict to stick to the use of high standards and quality materials and techniques. ABSDC also participates in exchange programs with international and national institutes.

Postgraduation courses are available in eight departments with highly qualified professors as guides. AB Shetty dental college is awarded as the BEST DENTAL COLLEGE OF THE YEAR for 2015. The award was presented at Hotel Le-Meridien on 21st December 2015.

Course Duration: 4 + 1 Year Internship

For admission towards BDS in AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, the following are the criteria:

• Candidate must pass 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
• Candidate must score at least 50% in PCB i.e Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
• The candidate must compulsorily pass English Subject during the 10+2 or equivalent examination.
• The candidate must be of at least 17 years of age during the admission procedure of that academic year.

Entrance Exam Eligibility for Admission towards BDS:

• Candidates who want to join AB Shetty Dental College must qualify NEET(National Eligibility Entrance Test)  UG Entrance Exam of that academic year without fail.
• The qualified candidates will be informed and allotted a set according to the merit list.

Masters of Dental Surgery(MDS):

Course Duration: 3 Years

If a candidate wishes to take admission to AB Shetty Dental College for the MDS course must have the following Eligibility:

• The candidate must have a BDS Degree or Equivalent which is recognized by NITTE or Dental Council of India.
• The candidate must have attended the compulsory rotating internship after passing the final year university examination of BDS.

• Bank: To keep the students fully concentrated on academics and for their facility, ABSDC accommodated an on-campus banking facility. The bank is Syndicate Bank where students can start their accounts without any free hassles. The campus even has an ATM kiosk for the easy transaction of money without going elsewhere.
• Cafeteria: Provides nutritional and tasty food for all students at a reasonable price. They provide all kinds of north Indian and south Indian dishes.
• Computer Lab: Spread over 570 square feet with 21 desktops that are connected by LAN. The lab is equipped with both Inkjet and laser printers which can give quality black and white or color printouts. It has Gestetner and scanning facilities too.
• Transport: College provides every student with a transport facility. The bus has trips at regular intervals to Mangalore city.
• Library: The college library is located on the 7th floor of the building. The floor area is 10,000 square feet with a seating facility for 200 students. The library has a collection of more than 6475 volumes and 53 national and international journals. Each department has a separate library too. The library has an open access system and a seminar too.
