Dental Admission

Eligibility for BDS

  • The candidate must meet the age requirement of 17 at the time of admission or before the end of the admission year on December 31.
  • Must possess a passing score on the Karnataka II PUC exam or a comparable test from the CBSE, ICSE, or state boards, with English as one of the languages and Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as optional subjects.
  • Must have earned 50% in these three disciplines together with English. However, the minimum score required for applicants from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes is 40%.
  • The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET), administered by the National Board of Examinations, will be the basis for admission to the program. 

Documents Required for BDS Admission

The following original papers, as well as the letter of admission allocation from the KEA, may be brought to the Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences Deanery by candidates:

  • Grade card (NEET).
  • 10th Grade S.S.L.C. marks card.
  • 12th Grade Marks Report.

Eligibility for MDS

  • Candidates must have successfully finished their undergraduate dental study at an Indian dental college or institution that has been officially accredited by the criteria of the Dentists Act of 1948.
  • By March 31, 2017, the candidates must have finished the required rotatory internship.
  • Candidates should have permanent registration with the Dental Council of India or another state dental council, or they should get it within a month of the admission date.
  • Candidates who completed their undergraduate dental education abroad need to obtain special authorization from DCI.
  • Should have qualified NEET-MDS.
  • NEET-MDS, administered by the National Board of Examinations, would be used as the basis for admission to the program.

Documents Required for MDS Admission

The following original papers, as well as the letter of admission allocation from the counselling authority, may be submitted by candidates to the Deanery:

  • Copies of the candidate’s passport and their parents’ passports, in the case of NRI applicants.
  • For NRI candidates, a parent’s employment certificate is required.
  • A letter of sponsorship from the parents sponsoring their child in the case of NRI candidates.
  • 12th Grade Report Card.
  • BDS grades from the first to last year.
  • The rotatory Internship completion certificate is required.
  • A certificate of registration from the Indian Dental Council or a state dental council.
  • Certificate of migration from the university where the BDS program was completed (other than RGUHS).
  • Certificate of Birth Date (if it is not on the 10th Marks card).

  • Students who are OBC, Scheduled Caste, or Scheduled Tribe must have a caste & income certificate.
  • Certification of physical fitness with marks of identification.
