The college offers an undergraduate program in BDS. The course is designed for the duration of 4 academic years and 1 year of compulsory rotatory internship. The curriculum covers all aspects of dentistry. BDS is the study of teeth primarily and it also incorporates the learning of various parts of the head enclosing the face and brain.

MDS (Master of Dental Surgery)

Ph.D. in Dentistry

Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences Departments

The various dental departments of the college are responsible for the treatment and diagnostic facility of the patients.

Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology

The department is located on the ground floor of the building consisting of a spacious reception area, with separate undergraduate and postgraduate sections. Here the major role is to do the oral investigation, diagnosis, and probable treatment requiring referral to the concerned departments.

It has all the audio-visual facilities along with dental X-ray units, OPG machine, CBCT machine, Cephalometric unit, Whole body X-ray and Digital Radiovisiography (RVG).

Department of Periodontics and Oral Implantology

This department deals with the various prevention, treatment, and diagnosis of the gum health of the teeth. Also looks after various other cosmetic procedures such as skin grafts, and tissue reduction, and focuses on improving the aesthetics of the patient.

Department of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge

This department is situated on the ground floor of the main dental building. Its major concern is with geriatric patients whose complaints are major of missing teeth and full mouth rehabilitation.

The department focuses mainly on the construction of removable prostheses, complete dentures, and fixed prostheses too. The other facilities available are crowns, bridges, and implants. The technology of implantology has been very successful and is the most natural teeth replacement available.

Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology

This department is situated on the third floor of the dental building. It helps in understanding the pathophysiology of the oral cavity along with the diseases occurring and their diagnosis modalities. The department has an Olympus Pentahead Microscope with dark contrast and Image analysis software.

Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry

The department is situated on the first floor of the building. It aims at providing the best treatment for the prevention, cure, and treatment of children with various oral and gum-related problems. The department also aims to educate and motivate children about their oral health.

Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics

The major focus of this department is on pulp and pulpal tissue conditions. The patients are treated with utmost care to provide them with painless treatment and restore the aesthetic, function, and form of the teeth. The root canal treatments of the teeth are done in this department of dentistry.

Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics

This department deals with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and interception of malocclusion teeth along with dentofacial deformities. The focus is also on the facial growth of the patient for good aesthetics and facial profile.

Department of Public Health Dentistry

The major focus of this department is oral health awareness across the various towns and cities thus helping the community and people to practice proper oral health measures.

They are responsible for the various oral health camps organized by the college. It provides free health services to people and creates oral health importance in society.

Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

This department deals with the exodontia and surgical treatment of oral diseases. All the extraction procedures are carried out in this department and the department is well-equipped with minor operation theatres to carry out minor surgical procedures. It deals with all the minor and major pathological diseases of the oral cavity or any other facial deformities if present.

The OPD Timings of the dental hospital are as follows:
