The Infrastructure of KIDS has been laid down according to the DCI guidelines. The campus has a lush green environment housing the three-storied building which has all the nine dental departments in them.

It has all the latest facilities and technologies that have been introduced in the field of dentistry. The departments are well maintained, spacious and sterilized regularly.
Each Department has its own reception area, clinical section, seminar rooms, ug lab, pg lab and sterilization room. The pre-clinical and clinical laboratories have all the required equipment and facilities.

There are 6 well-aerated AC lecture theatres for the students that have been designed as per the latest audio-visual aids used now.
The Dental Auditorium is fully air-conditioned and has the capacity to hold 300 people at a time.
It has a big stage, LCD projector, latest technology with sound effects. It holds all the seminars and webinars organised by the college under the CDE program.

The campus has all the banking and ATM facilities available for banks such as:

To ensure the care of the patients visiting the campus there is a dedicated facility of Patient Grievance Redressal Cell available too. The patient is attended to within 10 minutes of notification and necessary treatment and care are provided.

Various oral health awareness camps along with a number of social outreach programs are organized by the dental college to ensure the well-being of people of the city or towns nearby. These camps are organized around various towns, villages, orphanages, schools etc.

On-Campus Hospital

The Dental Hospital is present inside the campus itself and it aims at providing the proper treatment and service to the people of Odisha. It has all the latest technologies and the techniques used for treatment are very efficient.
The College has 250+ dental chairs and dedicated laboratories. It has a CBCT machine, OPG and RVG.

The OPD Timings of the dental hospital are as follows:

Monday to Saturday- 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Lunch Break is from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Sunday- 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

There are separate Immunohistochemistry Lab which comes under the Oral and Maxillofacial Department.
Minor OTs, Surgery OT, Cleft lip and palate management unit and Oral Cancer and screening Centre.

Accommodation Facilities

There are separate Hostels for Boys and Girls with 24/7 security and CCTV surveillance. The rooms have been constructed spaciously in an eight-storied building. There are options of single or double seater rooms along with that the option of AC and non-AC is available too. The Dining hall is well ventilated and Hygiene is given proper care. The rooms have a bed with a mattress, a study table along with a chair, individual cupboard with a lock and key. The other facilities available are 24 hours electricity and water supply.

Safe and cool water drinking facility and a no-smoking residence. There are spacious common rooms for the students to interact with each other. Attendance is taken through biometrics and 24/7 warden and security is available.

The whole campus of KIDS is Wi-Fi enabled with high-speed internet services through dedicated optical fibre cables such as Bharti Airtel and BSNL.

The Hostel Mess serves nutritious meals and students’ hygiene is given the utmost priority. There is the option of both veg and non-veg food in the mess. Seasonal vegetables and fruits are served and the menu changes according to it.

There are various cafeterias within the campus that serve delicious food round the clock and one 24/7 cafe open for the students. It also has a central canteen and 15 other food courts serving multi-cuisine food.

The college also has various other facilities such as a post office, railway reservation counter and transportation facility for the convenience of the students. Sports Facility

Sports and various other extra-curricular activities play an important role in the foundation of a student’s personality. At Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences, various sports activities such as Basketball, Volleyball, Table tennis, Badminton, Billiards and snooker, chess, carom, Gym and Yoga centre are available within the campus.

KIDS has its own indoor Biju Patnaik Stadium to host matches and games during the fests that happen on the campus.

The various dental departments of the college are responsible for the treatment and diagnostic facility of the patients.

Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology

The department is located on the ground floor of the building consisting of a spacious reception area, with separate undergraduate and postgraduate sections. Here the major role is to do the oral investigation, diagnosis and probable treatment requiring referral to the concerned departments. It has all the audio-visual facilities along with dental x-ray units, OPG machine, CBCT machine, Cephalometric unit, Whole body X-ray and Digital Radiovisiography (RVG).

Department of Periodontics and Oral Implantology

This department deals with the various prevention, treatment and diagnosis of the gum health of the teeth. Also looks after various other cosmetic procedures such as skin grafts, and tissue reduction and focuses on improving the aesthetics of the patient.

Department of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge

This department is situated on the ground floor of the main dental building. Its major concern is with geriatric patients whose complaints are major of missing teeth and full mouth rehabilitation. The department focuses mainly on the construction of removable prostheses, complete dentures and fixed prosthesis too. The other facilities available are crowns, bridges and implants.  The technology of implantology has been very successful and is the most natural teeth replacement available.

Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology

This department is situated on the third floor of the dental building. It helps in understanding the pathophysiology of the oral cavity along with the diseases occurring and their diagnosis modalities. The department has Olympus Pentahead Microscope with dark contrast and Image analysis software.

Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry

The department is situated on the first floor of the building. It aims at providing the best treatment for the prevention, cure and treatment of children with various oral and gum-related problems. The department also aims at educating and motivate children about their oral health.

Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics

The major focus of this department is on pulp and pulpal tissue conditions. The patients are treated with utmost care to provide them with painless treatment and restore the aesthetic, function and form of the teeth. The root canal treatments of the teeth are done in this department of dentistry.

Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics

This department deals with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and interception of malocclusion teeth along with dentofacial deformities. The focus is also on the facial growth of the patient for good aesthetics and facial profile.

Department of Public Health Dentistry

The major focus of this department is oral health awareness across the various towns and cities thus helping the community and people to practise proper oral health measures. This department deals with the exodontia and surgical treatment of oral diseases. The college offers an undergraduate program in BDS. The course is designed for the duration of 4 academic years and 1 year of compulsory rotatory internship.
