Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai, located in the Temple City, Madurai, was founded in 1957 by an industrialist Late Karumuttu Thiagarajan Chettiar. The engineering college is affiliated with Anna University and is a government-aided institution funded by the management and central and state governments. Admission Process for Bachelor of Engineering/Technology:

  • Admission to the program is conducted through TNEA and Management quota.  
  • The applications for the Management quota will be issued online through the TCE website two days from the publication of the 12th standard results from the HSC, ISC, and CBSE streams.

Eligibility Criteria for Bachelor of Engineering/Technology:

  • Obtain minimum marks in higher secondary education or Vocational education courses as per the norms of the Tamil Nadu state government. 
  • Candidates who have completed diplomas can join in the second year with the help of the Lateral Entry scheme as per the norms of the government of Tamil Nadu.

Admission Process for Master of Engineering/Technology:

  • Admission is carried out through the Single Window System of Anna University. 
  • Candidates who have appeared for the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test for the Master of Engineering programme or have valid scores of GATE are eligible. 
  • Students can choose the courses based on the rank calculated by their marks in the TANCET.
  • The engineering departments offer admissions to the Master of Engineering program under the AICTE – QIP scheme for the faculty sponsored by AICTE-approved Polytechnic Institutions.

  • Final admission to the course under QIP will be offered only in the subsequent year through Anna University after fulfilling Anna University norms.

Bachelor of Engineering/Technology
