NEET UG Eligibility Criteria 2025
Candidates aspiring to appear for NEET (UG) 2025 must meet the following eligibility criteria as per the National Medical Commission (NMC) and Dental Council of India (DCI):
NEET Eligibility Age Limit
- Minimum Age: Candidates must be 17 years old on or before December 31, 2025 (Year of admission).
- General (UR) / General-EWS candidates: Born on or before December 31, 2008.
- SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD/PwD candidates: Same minimum age applies.
- Upper Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for NEET (UG) as per NMC’s notification dated March 9, 2022.
Nationality Criteria
Candidates eligible to apply include:

- OCI/NRI/Foreign Nationals must comply with admission rules set by the respective State Governments, Institutions, and the Government of India.
- OCI candidates retain the rights they had before the March 4, 2021 notification, as per the Supreme Court order of February 3, 2023.
- Foreign applicants must upload documentary proof of their nationality (passport pages, embassy certificate, etc.) while filling out the application.

Candidates must qualify under one of the following education categories:

04 | Completed Pre-professional/Pre-medical Exam after Class 12 with PCB and English, including practicals. |
05 | Completed 1st year of a 3-year degree course with PCB (including practicals) and English, provided it was a University Examination. |
06 | Completed B.Sc. with at least two subjects from PCB and had PCB + English in Class 12. |
07 | Any other equivalent examination recognized by an Indian University/Board. Candidates with foreign qualifications must submit an equivalency certificate from AIU. |
Eligibility Criteria for NEET UG Special Considerations
- Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh candidates are now eligible for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats.
- Tamil Nadu Class 10 (2021 batch): Since marks were not awarded, their “Result Mode” will be disabled when applying.
- Candidates from Foreign/International Boards must ensure their qualification meets the NEET (UG) standards.
