NEET MCC Counseling Process 2024

A student who wants to apply to deemed medical colleges in Karnataka or any deemed medical universities in Karnataka has to register themselves in the MCC Portal by paying a registration fee of 5000/- and a refundable security deposit of 2 lakhs, totaling amount of Rs 205000/-

A student who doesn’t pay a security deposit doesn’t qualify to opt for any deemed medical university in Karnataka. The registration fee is the same for NRI and Indians.

A student can get converted into the NRI category and become eligible for opting for those category seats by submitting the required documents mentioned in the MCC portal. Notification for the conversion of NRI-sponsored candidates will be uploaded in the MCC portal before the start of counseling.

After registration, students can do option entry of the colleges they want to opt for on a given date mentioned in the calendar of events. There would be multiple rounds of counseling, the First round, Second Round, Mop-up round, stray vacancy round, and extended or special stray vacancy round.

Till the last round, the counseling process moves in quite a similar way. After a mop-up round again there will be an online stray vacancy round which would be conducted by the MCC based on the names of the list of unallotted students.

The leftover NRI seats which are left vacant get converted to normal management quota on the stray vacancy round during the counseling if less number of students than the seats available in the NRI category show up.

The important thing to note is any student who fails to take admission after allotment in the last round will be barred from appearing for NEET the next year.

So, counseling steps for MBBS enrollment in deemed medical colleges in Karnataka should be followed very cautiously and judiciously.
