Admissions to the PGDM Program

Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D Admission

a) The University of Mysore admission guidelines, which are posted on the university’s website, apply to Ph. D. admissions at SJIM Research Centre.

b) In accordance with current University of Mysore regulations, candidates must hold a Master’s degree or any other degree or diploma with a minimum of 55% of the total possible points (CGPA) or an equivalent grade. However, for the following candidates: 

  • SC/ST (Cat-I candidates), OBC (NCL applicants), PWDs, and transgender candidates, this requirement is decreased to 50%.
  • Candidates who have completed their master’s degree before 19 September 1991. 
  • In-service candidates with a minimum of five years of regular experience related to the teaching profession as teachers, library professionals, physical education instructors, or laboratory staff in educational institutions.

c) The candidate must also show up for the University of Mysore Entrance Test. A candidate will be deemed eligible and may submit an application for admission to a doctoral program if they receive at least 55 out of 100 possible points in the exam (or 50 for OBC, PWD, and transgender applicants, or 45 for SC/ST candidates). These groups are excused from taking the entrance test:

  • Candidates who have earned JRF fellowships through the UGC, CSIR-NET, DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF, ICAR Examinations, SLET (KSET), or GATE Examination are excused from taking the entrance test.
  • All of these candidates need just have a letter of approval or consent from their suggested guide.

Eligibility Criteria for PGDM Admission

  • Earn a regular-mode bachelor’s degree in BE, B.Tech, B.Com, BBA, BSc, BA, or any other bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • The candidate must consistently have a grade point average of first class (minimum 60%) in STD X, STD XII, and graduation.
  • Candidates who successfully completed each topic on their first try will be given preference. 
  • Candidates with a history of more than two past-due payments are not required to apply. Applicants who took the Final Graduate Level exam and are awaiting results are also welcome to apply.

Entrance Test for PGDM Admission

  • CAT: (60 percentile or higher).
  • XAT: (60 percentile or higher).
  • MAT: A minimum Composite Score of 550.
  • The College also accepts GMAT, ATMA, and CMAT scores that are at or above the 60th percentile.

Shortlisting for PGDM Admission: Shortlisted candidates will be chosen based on their track record of academic success, performance on the entrance exam, and job history.
