Is Himachal Pradesh an Open or Closed State?
Himachal Pradesh is a closed state for NEET UG state quota counselling process.
- 85% State Quota seats in government and private colleges would be reserved for bonafide Himachali candidates only.
- Aspirants from other States can apply for:
- 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government colleges (By MCC).
- Management/NRI Quota seats of private medical/dental colleges in all the states.
Well, if you are a non-Himachali, then there are only private management quota seats available for you.

Eligibility Criteria

General Requirements:
- Qualify NEET UG 2025
- You have to be a minimum of 17 years old by or before 31st December 2025
- Qualification: 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English.
State Quota Requirements:
- Must be a Bonafide Himachali
- Valid Bonafide Himachali Certificate is mandatory
- Children of HP Govt Employees, Autonomous Body Employees, or Defense personnel posted in HP may also be eligible.
