There are six dental colleges in Chhattisgarh, each offering Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) courses. To qualify for the courses, it’s essential that students first clear the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for UG and PG courses. Without NEET, students will not be eligible for admission. For MDS, students have to register under the State Dental Council as well.

Chattisgarh Dental College & Research Institute, Rajnandgaon

The Chhattisgarh Dental College Rajnandgaon were founded in 2001 with the mission to create a promising future for oral healthcare in the country. Run by the Youth Foundation of India, the college has become one of the premier dental institutions in Chhattisgarh, proving high-quality education to aspiring students. 

The college has all the credentials that make it a great place for higher studies. It is NAAC accredited, approved by the Dental Council of India, affiliated with the C.G. Ayush & Health Science University, Raipur, and is an ISO-certified institution. They offer both BDS and MDS courses.

The college prides itself on having an excellent team of experienced faculty members who are dedicated to giving the best teaching to its students. The college has great infrastructure and amenities such as a well-stocked library, a placement cell, a hostel, a canteen, etc.

Govt Dental College, Raipur

The Government Dental College is situated in Raipur at a quaint location that is surrounded by lush greenery. Established in 2003, the college very quickly became of the most prestigious in Chhattisgarh for offering a well-rounded, comprehensive undergraduate program in dental education to students. 

The college’s vision is simple yet powerful- to be a pioneer in providing dental education to students so that they can provide dental healthcare solutions to the rural population of the country. The college focuses deeply on community, social, and environmental endeavors, such as creating a rainwater harvesting system on campus and organizing dental camps. 

The college offers BDS course only, which is four years of academic training and one year of compulsory internship. The college has nine dental departments as well.

Maitri College of Dentistry and Research Centre, Durg

The third college on the list is the Maitri College of Dentistry situated in Durg. Established in 2005 and run by the Maitri Educational Society, it is a private dental college that is approved and recognized by the Dental Council of India. It is a NAAC-accredited college and has received immense appreciation for its outstanding faculty and educational staff and facilities. 

The college offers the BDS program, Diploma in Dental Hygienics, Diploma in Dental Mechanics, and the MDS course with specialization in seven subjects- Endodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Medicine, Pedodontics, Periodontics, Oral Pathology, and Prosthodontics.

The college is affiliated with the prestigious Ayush & Health Sciences University Chhattisgarh and has received permission from the Central Government.

New Horizon Dental College & Research Institute, Bilaspur

Situated in the beautiful city of Bilaspur, New Horizon Dental College and Research Institute was formed considering the rising demand for proper oral and dental healthcare in both urban and rural regions of the country. 

In 2004, Barfani Academia, which is a group comprising incredibly knowledgeable and experienced individuals, got together to form the New Horizon Dental College, and in 2006, enrolment officially began. Since then, they have been pioneers in providing excellent dental education to students. Their motto is- “working towards excellence.”

The college offers a BDS course. The five-year course is a great start for students who are venturing into the field for the first time. The training goes on for four years, and the fifth year is a mandatory rotatory paid internship. The course is approved by the Dental Council of India and has nine departments running. It also has an MDS course for postgraduate students.

Rungta College of Dental Sciences & Research, Bhilai

The next college on the list is Rungta College of Dental Sciences and Research in Bhilai. Founded in 2005, the college is affiliated with Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Sciences and the Ayush University.  They are also recognized and approved by the Dental Council of India. The college offers two courses, BDS and MDS.

The college strives to provide an exceptional and comprehensive education that focuses on developing clinical skills while enhancing students’ theoretical knowledge. Students here have excelled in academics, and have received accolades for their achievements.

Triveni Institute of Dental Sciences & Research Centre, Bilaspur

Another dental college that has become popular in Chhattisgarh is the Triveni Institute of Dental Sciences, a self-financed and non-profitable organization situated in Bilaspur. It was founded in 2008, is affiliated with Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Science as well as Aayush University. It is also operated by the Singhai Lakhmi Chand Memorial Trust.

The college’s goal is to become a top institution that provides high-quality education in dental sciences. Since they focus on both theoretical and practical learning, the students become highly trained which helps them in their careers. The college offers two courses, BDS and MDS.
