To be Eligible for NEET MDS Counseling in Orissa for 2025:

  1. All the candidates must qualify the NEET MDS to be eligible for admission in Orissa for the session of 2025. 
  2. A candidate must be registered with the State Dental Council and hold a recognized Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from an Indian university or college in order to be admitted to the MDS program.
  3. A one-year rotating internship in an authorized or recognized dental college is a prerequisite for admission.
  4. Candidates from the UT of Jammu and Kashmir who have completed or passed the BDS are also eligible to participate in counseling.
  5. For Orissa Residents: A certificate of permanent residency issued by a revenue official in the area who is at least as senior as the Tahasildar is required of every Orissa permanent resident.
  6. Eligibility for Foreign Nationals
    1. The Indian Dental Council should accept Foreign Nationals with BDS-equivalent fundamental dental qualifications.
    2. If a foreign national wants to take the NEET-MDS test and needs security clearance per the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) criteria, they must first apply for security clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

NEET MDS Counseling in Orissa 2025: Counselling Process Information

Counseling Process for NEET MDS Orissa:

Step 1: Application Form

After registration, candidates are required to log in to the site, fill out the online application form, and submit it by clicking the “Submit” button. A printout of the online application form must be taken.

Step 2: Document Verification

The candidate has to attend the document verification session done in virtual/ physical mode and get his/her online application authenticated or as may be notified. 

Step 3: Application Fees

The candidate has to deposit the counselling application fees of Rs. 2500/-

Step 4: Choice Locking

The candidate must next proceed to the official site, select his or her preferred course and college (any number), and lock the selection in accordance with the schedule.

Step 5: Counselling Rounds

Courses and colleges will be assigned based on merit and personal preference.  Along with the necessary admission payments for provisional admission, the candidate can download the allotment-cum-admission letter and personally appear before the convenor on the designated day, time, and location.
There is a total of 04 rounds of counseling, i.e., 01, 02, Mop-Up, and Stray Round. 

Note: There shall be no fresh registration allowed for further rounds of the state counselling except when there is revision in the qualifying cut off score in NEET-PG by appropriate authorities.

NEET MDS Counseling in Orissa 2025: Seat Allotment

  1. The seats will be split 50/50 between state direct candidates and in-service candidates.
  1. The Convener will compile the state’s merit list, and the candidate’s selection of the subject and college will be the only basis for allocation. 
  1. Allotted applicants must pay the necessary fees, bond, CLC, and allocation letter to be provisionally allowed to the convener’s office.
  1. Unreserved candidates will fill the positions if no reserved applicants are available.  The interchangeability of ST and SC seats is prohibited.  On a rotating basis, the disparities in seat distribution between reserved, in-service, and direct seats will be modified.
