BDS Admission in UP
- The same rules of NEET qualification apply for admission to any of the dental colleges in UP.
- But, unlike in Karnataka, students from other states can use this benefit. They can choose and study in a dental college. This is true even if their score is not above the general category but is enough as per NBE.Â
- In 2023, they abolished this rule. Now, only domicile students can get category benefits.
- Private dental colleges are on the UP Delhi border. They attract students from other states. This is because of its good infrastructure and many facilities.
- Some colleges / Deemed universities offer scholarships in fees as well. Those scholarships depend on their NEET Score. They also depend on their grades in 10th and 12th.
- The scholarship continues in the second year. It depends on the student’s grades.
- So, it is much advised to check the pros and cons of each dental college in Uttar Pradesh. Then, select the right college and go for direct admission.

Eligibility for BDS Admission in Uttar Pradesh
The first and foremost thing is NEET Qualification. Non-qualified students in NEET won’t be able to get admission to any of the dental colleges in UP or in any state in India India. The rest of the eligibility criteria are:
- NEET Qualification.
- At least 50% in +2 for the General Category.
- At least 40% in +2 for the OBC/SC/ST category (category benefits can be availed by state-domicile students only).

MCC Counseling Procedure Updates for 2024
- OCI aspirants can now choose UR category management seats.

- The fourth phase, often known as the “stray vacancy round,” formerly handled offline at the college level, will now be done online through MCC counseling.

- For the fourth round—the Mop-Up Stray Vacancy round—registration would be open.
The third round, formerly known as the mop-up round in 2022, will now be referred to as the Third Counseling Round and the mop-up stray vacancy round and the last round will be called as extended stray vacancy round.
