NEET UG 2024 Cutoff is higher than expected this year with 164 as the minimum score limit for the General category, check out the detailed description of the cutoff table given below:
- For the Unreserved/EWS (UR/EWS) category, the cut-off percentile is the 50th percentile, with a cut-off score range of 720 to 164. The number of candidates in this category is 1,165,904.
- For the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category, the cut-off percentile is the 40th percentile, with a cut-off score range of 163 to 129. The number of candidates in this category is 100,769.
- For the Scheduled Caste (SC) category, the cut-off percentile is the 40th percentile, with a cut-off score range of 163 to 129. The number of candidates in this category is 34,326.
- For the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category, the cut-off percentile is the 40th percentile, with a cut-off score range of 163 to 129. The number of candidates in this category is 14,478.
The date of declaration of the NEET UG 2024 result was 04.06.2024.

BDS Admission in UP
- The same rules of NEET UG qualification apply for admission to any of the dental colleges in UP.
- But, unlike in Karnataka, students from other states can use this benefit. They can choose and study in a dental college. This is true even if their score is not above the general category but is enough as per NBE.
- In 2023, they abolished this rule. Now, only domicile students can get category benefits.
- Private dental colleges are on the UP Delhi border. They attract students from other states. This is because of its good infrastructure and many facilities.
- Some colleges / Deemed universities offer scholarships in fees as well. Those scholarships depend on their NEET Score. They also depend on their grades in 10th and 12th.
- The scholarship continues in the second year. It depends on the student’s grades.
- So, it is much advised to check the pros and cons of each dental college in Uttar Pradesh. Then, select the right college and go for direct admission.

Eligibility for BDS Admission in Uttar Pradesh
The first and foremost thing is NEET Qualification. Non-qualified students in NEET won’t be able to get admission to any of the dental colleges in UP or in any state in India India. The rest of the eligibility criteria are:
- NEET Qualification.
- At least 50% in +2 for the General Category.
- At least 40% in +2 for the OBC/SC/ST category (category benefits can be availed by state-domicile students only).
Documents Required for BDS Admission in UP
There are a few documents that are mandatory during counseling and admission for BDS through the management quota. I will list the details below:
- 10th Marks and Pass Certificate.
- +2 Marks Card and Pass Certificate.
- Migration Certificate.
- Transfer Certificate or TC.
- Conduct Certificate.
- NEET Score Card.
- Identity or ID Card.
- 4 Passport Size photo.
MCC Counseling Procedure Updates for 2024
- OCI aspirants can now choose UR category management seats.
- The fourth phase, often known as the “stray vacancy round,” formerly handled offline at the college level, will now be done online through MCC counseling.
- For the fourth round—the Mop-Up Stray Vacancy round—registration would be open. The third round, formerly known as the mop-up round in 2022, will now be referred to as the Third Counseling Round the mop-up stray vacancy round and the last round will be called the extended stray vacancy round.
