BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery)

BAMS is a degree programme at the undergraduate level that trains students in Ayurveda and Ayurvedic medicine. The Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) is the body in charge of deciding who gets to study Ayurveda at the undergraduate and graduate levels and who gets to practise it in India.

The BAMS programme lasts for 5.5 years. Over its five years and six months, the BAMS Course has four professional groups of subjects.

Admission Procedure

  • The start of admission will follow the R.G.U.H.S. Bangalore schedule.
  • Within the last date for application submission, applications must be submitted to the principal of the college in the prescribed form and be complete in all respects.
  • Applications that are not full are likely to be rejected. Applicants need to attach the original and authentic photocopy of all the required certificates, mark sheets and any other miscellaneous documents with the admission form
  • In no event will fees that have been paid be reimbursed or applied to other accounts.

Eligibility for BAMS

  • Students who want to enrol in the first professional BAMS course must have completed the two-year PUC examination offered by the PUC Board of Karnataka, or any other exam deemed equivalent by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, with English listed as one of the optional subjects and a minimum of 50% in each subject. 

  • No applicant may be admitted unless he or she was 17 years of age or older on December 31 of the admission year.

  • Qualifying NEET entrance examination is a must for admission to the BAMS program.
  • Students should provide an eligibility certificate given by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore if they have taken an exam other than the pre-university board (Karnataka). At the time of admittance, it was produced.

  • HSC, B.Sc., and SSLC grades
  • PUC II, HSC, or B.SC mark sheet
  • Transfer Certificate from the Last College/University Attended
  • Immigration permit (In case students outside Karnataka)
  • Character certificate from the previous institution attended.
  • Physical fitness evaluation certificate from a licensed medical professional.
  • If applicable, Scheduled Caste & Tribe Certificate
  • If applicable, Group A.B.C.D.E. Certificate.
  • Photographs (6 in stamp size and 6 in passport size).
  • If appropriate,  proof of eligibility from RGUHS Bangalore.
  • Any further documents or certificates that the principal deems necessary.
