MBBS admission in Telangana is conducted primarily through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG), a centralized examination held by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Candidates seeking admission to MBBS courses in government and private medical colleges in Telangana must qualify for NEET and participate in the counseling process organized by the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal. The counseling is conducted in multiple rounds for 85% state quota seats, while the remaining 15% all-India quota seats are managed by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC).
In Telangana, the MBBS course fee ranges from ₹60 lakhs to ₹1 crore in private colleges, which number 29, while there are also 36 government medical colleges offering more affordable options.

Eligibility Criteria for MBBS in Telangana
- The candidates should be Indian Nationals/Person of Indian Origin (PIO)/Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) card holder (PIO/OCI status issued before 04-03-2021) and shall fulfill the provisions notified in G.O.Ms.No. 33 dated 19-07-2024, HM&FW dept.
- Educational qualifications: In accordance with NMC Regulations Candidate should have passed Intermediate (10+2 pattern) or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology) / Biotechnology and English.
- OC candidates including candidates seeking EWS reservation should obtain not less than 50% marks in science subjects.
- BC/SC/ST candidates should obtain not less than 40% marks in science subjects.
- OC PWD candidates should obtain not less than 45% marks inscience subjects.
- Age: Candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on 31-12- 2024. Candidates who do not complete 17 years as on 31-12- 2024 are not eligible for admission.
