BDS Admission in Delhi NCR Overview 2025
There are no private dental colleges in Delhi. All BDS and MBBS colleges in Delhi are either government-run or central universities. If you want admission to a private dental college, you need to explore the Delhi NCR region (National Capital Region), which includes cities surrounding Delhi.
Some of the major locations in NCR include Ghaziabad and Noida (in Uttar Pradesh), and Faridabad and Gurgaon (in Haryana). These areas are close to Delhi and have multiple private BDS colleges. If you plan to visit any of these colleges, you can travel via Delhi. You can reach them through the nearest metro station, railway station, or airport if you are coming from another state.
Dental Colleges in Ghaziabad
Ghaziabad is one of the major hubs for private dental colleges in Delhi NCR. There are six to seven dental colleges in this region:
- ITS Dental College
- Santosh Deemed to be University – This is the only deemed university for dental education in both Ghaziabad and the entire state of Uttar Pradesh.
- IDST Dental College
- Divya Jyoti (DJ) Dental College
- Inderprastha Dental College
- Shree Bankey Bihari Dental College
All these colleges are situated in and around Ghaziabad and fall under the Delhi NCR region, making them easily accessible for students looking for BDS admission near Delhi.

Why Choose Delhi NCR for BDS?
Students often ask why Delhi NCR is a popular choice for BDS admission. The answer is simple: Delhi is a leading hub for dentistry in India.
Across India, Mumbai and Delhi are the top cities for dental professionals. These cities provide vast opportunities. Many dentists from other states move to Delhi to settle down or to learn the latest technologies in dental care.
Delhi offers firsthand access to new technologies and treatments. Most innovations in dentistry appear in Delhi before they reach other parts of the country. As a result, students in Delhi get to learn and experience modern techniques earlier than their peers.
Moreover, Delhi has a diverse and large patient base. Patients here often seek advanced and expensive treatments, giving students exposure to high-end clinical procedures.
That’s why studying BDS in and around Delhi ensures students receive:
- Strong patient flow
- Practical exposure to the latest dental techniques
- Quality dental education
Dental Colleges in Noida
In the Noida region, there are only two major dental colleges:
- Sharda University
- ITS Dental College, Greater Noida
Both colleges are well-known and fall under the Uttar Pradesh state counseling process (UPDGME).
Dental Colleges in Faridabad and Gurgaon
If we talk about Faridabad and Gurgaon (in Haryana), you will find the following dental colleges:
- Faridabad:
- Manav Rachna Dental College (a deemed university)
- Sudha Rustagi Dental College
- Gurgaon:
- SGT Dental College
Among these, Manav Rachna is a deemed university, and admission to this college is done through MCC counseling (just like Santosh University in Ghaziabad).
The remaining colleges in Faridabad and Gurgaon fall under the Haryana State Counseling.
Both Faridabad and Gurgaon are in close proximity to Delhi, just about 40 minutes from Central Delhi, making them convenient for students from other states.
Other Dental Colleges in Haryana (Beyond NCR)
If you move further into Haryana, you will find good dental colleges in cities like:
- Panipat
- Chandigarh
These locations also offer quality dental education and decent patient exposure. However, the Delhi NCR region remains the most concentrated hub for dental colleges with the best access to clinical practice and modern facilities.
As you can see, the Delhi NCR region offers a wide range of private dental colleges with excellent academic and clinical infrastructure. Whether it’s Ghaziabad, Noida, Faridabad, or Gurgaon, students can find good institutions that offer:
- High patient exposure
- Modern dental practices
- Access to latest technologies

How to Select Best Dental Colleges in Delhi-NCR?
When students step out of their homes to study BDS in Delhi-NCR, they should focus on selecting the best possible college. Since there are no private dental colleges in Delhi, students must choose from private colleges located near Delhi—either in Uttar Pradesh border areas (like Ghaziabad and Noida) or Haryana border areas (like Faridabad and Gurgaon). Whether you’re from Bihar, Assam, Bengal, or any other state, the border location does not affect your academic quality. What matters most is the quality of education, clinical exposure, and recognition of the degree.
The Key Points to Select Best Dental Colleges in Delhi-NCR Are:
- Check the OPD (Outpatient Department) Footfall
A high number of patients means more practical exposure. In areas crowded with dental colleges, the patient flow may divide, affecting your clinical learning. Choose colleges where OPD footfall is consistent and high. - Verify the University Affiliation
The value of your degree depends on the university that grants it. Prefer colleges affiliated with state health universities or recognized central universities. For instance, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Karnataka is well-known. Similarly, in Delhi-NCR, colleges under recognized state universities hold more value than those under less-known private or self-financed universities. - Evaluate the Location
Location plays a key role in accessibility and exposure. Proximity to a major city like Delhi means better access to transportation (metro, railway, airport), more patient diversity, and more advanced clinical practices. - Compare the Fee Structure
Whether in Haryana or Uttar Pradesh border, the fees for private BDS colleges are nearly the same. So, don’t compromise on college quality just to save a small amount on fees. - Look at the Facilities
A college should offer modern dental labs, simulation units, hostel amenities, libraries, and digital learning tools. Advanced infrastructure supports better learning. - Check Past Academic Records
Look at the college’s performance in the last 5 years. Consider results, NEET PG admission rates, MDS placements, and student feedback. - Study the Patient Demographics
Delhi attracts patients from all over India seeking advanced dental treatment. Colleges closer to Delhi often receive more complex and diverse dental cases—this helps students gain real-time experience in the latest dental procedures. - Ask About Batch Size and Faculty
Colleges with a moderate batch size and experienced faculty ensure better attention and teaching quality. Avoid colleges with over-intake and shortage of faculty.
Choosing a dental college is not just about location or fees. It’s a decision that impacts your next five years and your entire dental career. Look for colleges that offer solid clinical exposure, patient inflow, reputed affiliation, and proper facilities.
