First of all, I would like to tell you that you must qualify for the NEET-UG entrance exam to take BDS admission anywhere in India. You must qualify for the NEET-UG entrance exam even if you want to take BDS admission through the management quota.

NEET UG 2024 Cutoff is higher than expected this year with 164 as the minimum score limit for the General category, check out the detailed description of the cutoff table given below:

  • For the Unreserved/EWS (UR/EWS) category, the cut-off percentile is the 50th percentile, with a cut-off score range of 720 to 164. The number of candidates in this category is 1,165,904.
  • For the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category, the cut-off percentile is the 40th percentile, with a cut-off score range of 163 to 129. The number of candidates in this category is 100,769.
  • For the Scheduled Caste (SC) category, the cut-off percentile is the 40th percentile, with a cut-off score range of 163 to 129. The number of candidates in this category is 34,326.
  • For the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category, the cut-off percentile is the 40th percentile, with a cut-off score range of 163 to 129. The number of candidates in this category is 14,478.

The date of declaration of the NEET UG 2024 result was 04.06.2024.

BDS Admission Process in Delhi NCR

After attending the BDS Entrance Exam (NEET-UG), you must attend online counseling even if you want to take NRI admission.

Attending the UP NEET counseling to take BDS admission in dental colleges in the Delhi NCR area is mandatory. Here, I will give you a brief about the admission procedures. Below are the admission procedures in order:

Clear NEET-UG

The first step is to qualify for the NEET-UG entrance exam.

Register for the counseling

Next, you have to register for the counseling conducted by UP NEET.

Document verification

Next, you must verify your documents either online or offline.

1st round of counseling

Attend the first round of counseling and lock in your choice of college.

2nd round of counseling

If you can’t secure a seat in the first round of counseling, you can attend the second round of counseling.

3rd round of counseling

If you didn’t get admission in the second round, you can also attend the third round of counseling to take the vacant seats.

MOP-UP and Stray Vacancy round

Then comes the online mop-up round or the stray vacancy round that are conducted by MCC.

MCC Counseling Procedure Updates for 2024

  • OCI candidates can even take up UR category management seats, unlike before, where they had to select only NRI seats.
  • The fourth round, i.e., the stray vacancy round, which used to be conducted at the college level offline, will be conducted online via MCC counseling.
  • Registration will now be allowed for the fourth round, i.e., the Mop-Up Stray Vacancy round.
  • The third round, the Mop-up round in 2022, will now be called the Third Counseling Round, and the stray vacancy round will now be the Mop-Up Stray Vacancy Round.

I repeat you must attend the whole counseling procedure to secure BDS admission in Delhi NCR. You also have to pay a security deposit, if applicable, in the form of a Demand Draft during the registration or counseling.

            IDST Dental College is located in the main road of Ghaziabad in Delhi Meerut Highway.
            Its approximately 2 hour journey by car from New Delhi Airport or Railway Station.
            Its a 20 year old Dental College with finest facilities and patient intake when compared with other dental colleges in the same region.
            The Hostel facilities are also very good.
            A general hospital is also attached with the dental college.

          The cut-off for NEET-UG varies each year. And without qualifying the NEET entrance exam, you won’t be able to take BDS admission in Delhi NCR.
