Ayush Counselling in Maharashtra is conducted for admission to the AYUSH courses: BAMS/BNYS/BUMS/BSMS/BHMS after the NEET-UG examination. The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell (MAHACET) is responsible for the Maharashtra Ayush Counselling. State-domicile students and non-resident students can participate in the counselling through different quotas, such as the State Quota and All India Quota(AIQ), respectively.

Ayush Counselling in Maharashtra 

The Maharashtra Ayush Counselling official website is https://cetcell.mahacet.org/, which updates and releases all the notifications, publications, and results regarding the counselling. Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha & Homeopathy seats are offered in the state quota and All India Quota in the counselling. The state quota seats, which are 85%, are reserved for the domicile students of Maharashtra. The All India quota, which constitutes 15% of seats, is generally open to non-domicile students or students from all other states and Union territories.

The state quota offers seats in government and private Ayush colleges in Maharashtra through the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell, and the All India Quota seats counselling is conducted by the AYUSH Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC) for the government and private Ayush colleges in Maharashtra. The BHMS, BUMS, BSMS, BNYS, and BAMS colleges in Maharashtra, participating in the counselling, are recognized by the NCISM, NCH, and the Ministry of Ayush

Maharashtra Ayush Counselling Eligibility Criteria

The following are the requisites to be met by the candidates to be eligible for admission to AYUSH courses in Maharashtra.

  1. An Indian Citizen/ Non-Resident Indians (NRI)/ Overseas Citizens of India (OCI)/ Outside Maharashtra candidate (OMS) who qualified NEET-UG examination. (For Institutional Quota)
  2. Domicile of Maharashtra who qualified NEET (For State Quota)
  3. The candidates must attain 17 years of age on or before December of the year of admission.
  4. The candidates must pass the higher secondary/12/HSC/ or Equivalent examination from a recognized board/state-recognized board. (For Domicile Candidates)
  5. The candidates must score at least 50% of aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects in the higher secondary examination (For UR/EWS Candidates) and at least 40% of aggregate marks (For Reserved Category)

Maharashtra Ayush Counselling involves multiple rounds of allotment, which is a Centralized Admission Process. The following are the detailed instructions for each step involved in the counselling process.

  • Registration and Fee Payment

Important Points to Note:

  1. The candidates who do not wish to join the college allotted in Round 1 & 2, can avail free exit without penalty and participate in the further rounds.
  2. Candidates allotted seats and who wish to join the college and not participate in further rounds have to fill out the Status Retention Form.
  3. Candidates who were allotted seats and do not wish to join the college and want to participate in subsequent rounds should not fill out the Status Retention Form.

Maharashtra Ayush Counselling Process- All India Quota

Below is the detailed procedure of Ayush Counselling in Maharashtra under the All India Quota. The students from other states/ Non-domicile students can apply to Ayush Colleges in Maharashtra through this quota. They can also apply directly to the private Ayush colleges in Maharashtra under the Institutional Quota with their NEET scores.

  • Registration & Fee Payment

Register with the official website of AACCC at accc.gov.in and provide the necessary personal data. Upload the relevant documents in the original format and complete the registration successfully by making payment of registration fees as per the category.

  • Choice Filling/ Locking

Registered candidates can fill in their preferences for colleges during this round. It is mandatory to lock the choices before the deadline to proceed to the further rounds. The rule for choice filling differs in each allotment round. 

  • Allotment Rounds

As per the NEET scores, merit rank, college preference, and reservation policy, seats are allotted to the candidates, and the Allotment List is published. The Allotment is processed in 4 rounds- Round 1/ Round 2/ Round 3/ Stray Vacancy Round. The eligibility and participation in each round vary.

  • Document Verification

The candidates allotted need to attend the document verification process at the designated centers. Carry the original documents and certificates for verification and collect the verification slip.

  • Reporting to the College

The candidates who wish to join the allotted college should report to the respective college on the scheduled date and produce the original certificates and documents to them.
