Ayush Counselling is the centralised counselling process for admission to courses such as Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy, directed under the Ministry of Ayush. Ayush Counselling Overview

Ayush Counselling for all the courses, BAMS/BSMS/BUMS/BHMS, is conducted by two authorities. Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC) is the authority conducting counselling for 15% of the All India Quota(AIQ) seats. The remaining 85% of seats are handled by the state counselling authorities. For every institution, the counselling is conducted through their respective state’s responsible authority. The Ayush Counselling process generally involves registration, choice filling, seat allotment, document verification, and reporting to the college. 

According to the Ministry of Ayusha and the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), there are 563 BAMS colleges and 57 BUMS colleges across India, Including Private, Government, aided, and deemed colleges. As per the reports of the National Commission of Homeopathy (NCH), 277 colleges in India offer the BHMS course. The BSMS course is offered by 15 colleges in the country. 

For participating in the Ayush counselling for the above mentioned courses, it is mandatory to appear and qualify the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG examination.

The NEET UG 2025 examination was held on May 4, 2025, and the results were out on 14th June 2025. Ayush Counselling dates are yet to be published by AACCC.

  • To participate in the Ayush Counselling, the candidates are required to register themselves on the official website of the concerned state authority for the state quota and for AIQ, register with the official website of AACCC (https://aaccc.gov.in/).

Ayush Counselling Courses

Several institutes across the country offer courses recognized by the NCISM and NCH, supervised by the Ministry of Ayush. Ayush UG Counselling conducted by AACCC and other state counselling authorities is required for admission to these undergraduate courses, which are mentioned below. Ayush Courses Eligibility

In order to participate in the Ayush Counselling 2025 for the respective AYUSH courses, the candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements.

Entrance Exam: National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) 

Recidency for State Quota: Domicile of the respective state counselling authority

Academic: 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects. 40% is the minimum requirement for the reserved category. For international students, marks prescribed by the relevant institutions are accepted.

Age: 17 years or above in the year of admission.

Documents Required for Ayush Counselling

The documents required for Ayush Counselling for the UG courses are listed below. The candidates who fail to submit the original certificates or documents will be denied admission to the allotted institute. Also, they will not be permitted to enroll in the allotted college if they have already submitted their original documents to another institution, and bring a certificate or undertaking stating that the original certificates are deposited with the institution, or bring the coloured photocopies of the original documents.

Ayush Counselling 2025- Detailed Process

AACCC Counselling for UG counselling involves multiple rounds of allotments for maximum seats utilization and and this allows the candidates to upgrade their choices in each round. The procedure starts with the registration and fee payment by the candidates on the official website of AACCC or the concerned state counselling authority. Further, there are choice filling and choice locking, which allow the candidates to choose their preferred colleges. After the processing of allotment, the candidates are required to report to the allotted college for document verification. The allotment takes place in 4 rounds. Each round is explained in detail below.

Stray Vacancy Round for Deemed UniversityRegistered candidates who opted for the Deemed University as ‘selection of counselling’ in the AACCC UG portal and have not been allotted to any seats during 1st/ 2nd/ 3rd/ stray vacancy rounds of AACCC/State/UT counselling.1. Deemed University receives the list of eligible registered candidates from AACCC MoA, through the AACCC UG portal, for conducting SVR-DU counseling.
2. The list of ineligible candidates will also be sent to Deemed University through the AACCC portal.
3. Choice filling is not available on the AACCC portal for candidates participating in SVR-DU.
4. These seats are domicile-free; no reservation is considered on Deemed University seats.

Types of Ayush Counselling 

The counselling process for Ayush courses is undertaken by two different means. The All India quota seats of 15% are filled through AACCC counseling. The remaining 85% of seats are state quota, for which the concerned State/UT conducts the counselling. 

All India Quota (AIQ) seats

15% of the seats are under the All India Quota, and the seats are open to all candidates irrespective of their domicile. The candidates from any state and Union Territory can participate in the counselling. It is centralised, national-level counselling regulated by AACCC.

State Quota

The State Quota reserves 85 % of the seats for candidates who are domicile to a particular State or Union territory. The counselling process is handled by the concerned State authority of the domicile state. Different states possess their respective authorities for counselling across the country. They follow the counselling guidelines and reservation policy of the state government and the counselling conducting authority responsible.
