UP Ayush Counselling 2025: Important Updates

UP Ayush Counselling is the state counselling conducted by the Department of Ayush, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, for admission to Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha & Homeopathy courses. The primary qualification for participation in the counselling is the NEET-UG examination. Candidates who qualified the NEET-UG examination of the current year can apply to both private and government BAMS/BHMS/BUMS colleges in Uttar Pradesh through the State Quota or All India Quota.

NEET-UG 2025 was held on 4 May 2025, and the results were published on 14 June 2025. The UP Ayush Counselling dates have not yet been published officially by the authorities.

Uttar Pradesh Ayush Counselling Overview

The Department of Ayush, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, is in charge of conducting the UP Ayush Counselling for both UG and PG Ayush courses. Both private and government Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and Unani institutions, recognized by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and National Commission for Homeopathy (NCH), participate in the counselling. There are 80 BAMS colleges, 13 BHMS colleges, and 13 BUMS colleges in the state. 

The NEET-UG examination conducted by the NTA serves as the primary criterion for admission to the Ayush courses. The NEET-UG qualified candidates with an academic background of higher secondary education in the science stream must register with the UP Ayush Counselling official website at https://upayushcounseling.upsdc.gov.in/ to participate in the counselling.

The State reserves 85% of the seats under the State Quota only for the domicile students of Uttar Pradesh, and the remaining 15% seats are under the All India Quota (AIQ), open to all candidates, including non-domicile/ students from other states.

UP Ayush Counselling Fees

UP Ayush Counselling fees include registration fees and the security deposit. The fees as per the category of the colleges are provided in the table below.

UP Ayush Counselling Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must adhere to the eligibility criteria provided below to participate in the UP Ayush NEET Counselling.

Qualifying Examination

• Candidates must qualify for the NEET-UG 2025 examination to participate in the counselling.
• Candidates belonging to the unreserved category must obtain at least the 50th percentile, and candidates belonging to the unreserved category must obtain at least the 40th percentile in the NEET-UG examination.

Educational  Eligibility

• The candidates must obtain a minimum aggregate score of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects in the higher secondary examination, in case of unreserved category candidates.
• In case of reserved category candidates, the minimum aggregate score is 40% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects.

Age Limit

• The age of the candidate must be at least 17 years as of December 2025.

Domicile Requirement

• Candidates who are residents of Uttar Pradesh, applying to the counselling under the state quota, must submit a valid Domicile Certificate.

UP Ayush Counselling Process for State Quota

The following are the details of the procedure involved in the UP Ayush Counselling under the state quota. The whole process of counselling is conducted in multiple rounds: Round 1/ Round 2/ Round 3/ Stray Vacancy Round. 

Round 1

3.	The State Merit List will be published on the official portal according to the NEET-UG ranks
4.	Candidates are required to fill in the choice of colleges according to their preference. It is mandatory to lock the choices, as if a candidate does not lock the choice, it will be considered that they do not wish to participate in further counselling.
5.	Seat allotment is made based on NEET-UG score, reservation policy, the seat matrix of participating colleges, and choice of colleges.
6.	Candidates must attend the Document Verification at the center designated for them with the original documents.
7.	After the Allotment result is published, log in to the UP Ayush Counselling website and download the Allotment Letter.
8.	Join the allotted college and complete the admission procedure, including relevant original certificates submission and fee payment.

Round 2

Stray Vacancy Round

UP Ayush Counselling Process for All India Quota (AIQ)

The following are the details of the procedure involved in the UP Ayush Counselling under the All India Quota (AIQ), conducted by the AACCC. 

• The AACCC counselling takes place in multiple rounds: Round 1/ Round 2/ Mop-up Round/ Stray Vacany Round.
• Each Round, new candidates can register, and the previously registered candidates who were not allotted seats or opted for free exit or gave willingness to upgrade seats, can participate in the subsequent rounds.
• Stray Vacancy Round is only conducted for the vacant seats after allotment of the 3 Rounds of counselling.

Choice Filling/ Locking	During the choice filing session, candidates can fill out the choice of colleges according to their preference, and it is mandatory to lock the choices.
Document Verification	Candidates must report to the designated center for document verification and fetch the verification slip.
Seat Allotment	Seats are allotted after considering the NEET-UG rank, reservation criteria, and choice of colleges.
Publication of Allotment Result	The result of the allotment is published on the official portal, candidates must download the Provisional Allotment Letter from the official portal.
Reporting to Allotted College	The candidates must report to the allotted college within the timeframe provided to complete admission formalities, including fee payment.
