Hi! Hope you are doing well and keeping healthy. I cannot complete a detailed post about the nursing colleges in Mangalore without writing about Athena Nursing College Mangalore.

Athena College of Nursing Mangalore Overview
Athena College of Nursing comes under the Athena Institute of Health Sciences. It comes under the Akshath Charitable Trust. It is a private Christian institution. It is affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and it is also recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and Karnataka State Nursing Council.
The institution is managed by its Mr.R.S.Chettian is the Chairman of the Group, Mrs. Asha Shettian is the Secretary and Dr.Ashith Shettian is the trustee. The main purpose of establishing the college is to prepare qualified health care professionals so that they cater to the needs of the people, irrespective of caste, creed, language, or religion.
The College of Nursing was founded in the year 2003 with Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM). After that, in the year 2009, Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing and M.Sc. Nursing courses were started. After the graduate courses, the Allied courses were started B.Sc. Renal Dialysis Technology in 2017, B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology in the year of 2020 and B.Sc. Emergency and Trauma began in the year 2021.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Athena College of Nursing Mangalore

Bachelor of Science in Nursing or B.Sc. Nursing is a nursing course that you can take after finishing the twelfth standard. It is for a duration of four years. The intake of the students is eighty.
Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing at Athena College of Nursing Mangalore
Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing is a course that can be pursued after completing a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM). You should also have a work experience after GNM. It is a course for a duration of two years. The student intake for the course is fifty.
Master of Science in Nursing at Athena College of Nursing Mangalore
Master of Science in Nursing is a post-graduate level course for a duration of two years. The annual intake of the students is thirty-seven. The specializations offered are:

Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery at Athena College of Nursing Mangalore
Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery is also known as GNM. It is a course for a time period of three years. The number of students taken for the course is sixty.
Eligibility for admissions
Eligibility for taking admission to B.Sc. Nursing is:
- He/she must have passed two years of Pre-University Examination/PUC/PDC/10 +2 standard or any equivalent which is recognized by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with a minimum aggregate score of fifty percent. For SC/ST candidates the aggregate percentage is around forty percent. Or
- Vocational Higher Secondary education from Vocational Higher Secondary education, Kerala Government with a minimum aggregate of fifty percent in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- The minimum age for admission is seventeen years at the time of taking admission.
- He/she must be physically fit.
The students who are looking to get admission to Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing must fulfill the criteria:
- He/she must be having a completed degree of Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery.
- Must be registered as a nurse.
- Completed PUC/10+2 in any of the streams such as Arts, Science, or Commerce in which the examination has been conducted by the Pre-university Education Department in Karnataka or any equivalent examinations, which has been recognized by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
- The maximum age limit for the course is forty-eight years.
- He/she must be medically fit for the course.
To get admission to M.Sc the following criteria must be fulfilled:
- Must have passed Basic B.Sc. Nursing or Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing, which is recognized by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, or from any other university which is recognized equivalent by RGUHS, Bangalore, and the minimum aggregate must be fifty-five percent.
- Should have an experience of at least one year of experience after completing B.Sc. Nursing from any hospital or any nursing education is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.
- Must be a Registered Nurse and Midwife under any State Nursing Council.
- .Candidate must have passed PUC/PDC/10+2 in any of the streams like Arts, Science, or Commerce, examinations must have been conducted by the Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka or any of its equivalent which is recognized by the RGUHS, Bangalore.
- The maximum age limit for the course is forty-eight years.
- The candidate must be physically fit.
The eligibility to get admission into Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery are:
- Candidate must have passed the Pre-university examination PUC or PDC or any of its equivalent examinations with a minimum aggregate score of about forty percent. The aggregate for SC/ST candidates is around thirty-five percent.
- Any vocational higher secondary examination, which is conducted by the Kerala Government. The minimum score must be forty percent.
- At the time of getting admission, the minimum age must be around seventeen years.
- Must be fit medically for undergoing the course.
