To be frank there are very few BNYS colleges in India that are approved by AYUSH. Yes, it is true!

I had seen very few students joining BNYS colleges as most of the students are not aware of the course and their scope. As of my knowledge, I would say that BNYS is one of the best courses after 12th in India.

Best BNYS Colleges in India

As I told you earlier there are very few BNYS colleges in India. The following states and union territories don’t have any BNYS colleges:

Andhra Pradesh is one of the three states where BNYS colleges are there. In Andhra Pradesh, there are three BNYS colleges out of which one is a government college. Yes, there are government BNYS colleges in India, which are very few in number.

The 3 BNYS colleges in Andhra Pradesh are:

  • Government Naturopathy Medical College, Hyderabad.

  • Devs Yoga and Naturopathy Medical College, Keesara.

Government BNYS College, Hyderabad

The college was established in the year 1970 and is affiliated to NTR University of Health Sciences. The college is having a total intake capacity of 30.

You must have at least 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology to take admission to this BNYS college. There will also be state-run counseling for taking admission.

Narayana BNYS College, Nellore

Narayana Naturopathy College was established in the year 2008 with an intake capacity of 100 students. This college is also affiliated to NTR University of Health Sciences.

Devs BNYS College, Keesara

DEVS Naturopathy college was established in the year 2010. The college has an intake capacity of 50 students per year. The college is affiliated to NTR University of Health Sciences.

BNYS Colleges in Karantaka

In South India, Karnataka has the most number of BNYS colleges. In Karnataka, there are 4 BNYS colleges out of which 1 is government naturopathy colleges.

BNYS colleges in Karnataka are:

I have gone to this college and their campus is awesome and is filled with greenery. The college is affiliated to RGUHS or Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. The college was established in the year 2011.

Alvas College of Naturopathy, Mangalore

Alvas college is not exactly in Mangalore city. It is approximately 20-25 km from Mangalore city. The exact place is Moodibidri. The college was established in the year 2003.

Alvas BNYS college is affiliated to RGUHS and has a total intake of 60 students.

SDM College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, Ujire

SDM Naturopathy college is the oldest BNYS college in Karnataka. It was established in the year 1989 and is affiliated to RGUHS or Rajiv Gandhi University of Health and Sciences.

Government Nature cure and Yoga College

The college was established in the year 2006 and is also affiliated to RGUHS university. The college has a total intake of 25 students.

The college is located in the historic city, Mysore.

Tapovana Medical College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, Davangere

Tapovana BNYS college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health and Sciences and has an intake of 60 seats. The college is recognized by Government of Karnataka.

G.Madegowda Institue of Naturopathy, Mandya

The college is affiliated to RGUHS and has a total intake of 40 seats for BNYS. The college is approved by the Government of Karnataka.

There are 5 BNYS colleges in Tamil Nadu which includes 1 Government Naturopathy College. BNYS colleges in Tamil Nadu are:

SRK Medical College of Naturopathy, Kanyakumari

SRK BNYS college was established in the year 2002. The college has a total intake of 40 students. This college is also affiliated with Dr.MGR Medical University, Chennai.

Sivaraj Naturopathy Medical College, Salem

Sivaraj Naturopathy Medical College was established in 1997 under Dr.MGR Medical University. The college has a total intake of 40 students per year.

JSS Institute of Naturopathy, Coimbatore

JSS is one of the best BNYS colleges in Tamil Nadu. It is situated in Coimbatore which is easily accessible from Kerala. The college has a total intake of 60 students per year.

JSS Naturopathy college is affiliated to Dr.MGR Medical University, Chennai. The college was established in the year 1997.

Government Naturopathy and Yoga College, Chennai

This is the only government BNYS college in Tamil Nadu. This government college was established in the year 1997. This college is also affiliated to Dr.MGR Medical University with a total intake of 20 students.

There is only 2 BNYS college in Madhya Pradesh and that are Sant Hirdaram Medical College of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences and Sanchi Naturopathy College.

The College is situated in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The college was established in the year 2009 with a total intake of 50 students. The college is affiliated to Barkatullah University.

Sanchi Naturopathy College

The college is located in Raisen district in Madhya Pradesh. Sanchi BNYS college was established in the year 2010. The college has a total intake of 50 students and is affiliated to Barkatullah University.

BNYS Colleges in Chattisgarh

There is only 1 BNYS college in Chattisgarh and that is Mahavir College of Naturopathy and Yogic Science. The college was established in the year 2002 with a total intake capacity of 40 students.

The college is affiliated to Pt. Ravi Shankar University and the college is located in Durg district.

BNYS Colleges in Gujarat

The one and only BNYS colleges in Uttar Pradesh or UP are:

BNYS College Admission Procedure

You can take direct admissions and admission through the counseling conducted by the state authorities. Here I will explain to you the admission procedures in BNYS colleges in India.

  • If the candidate has the eligibility to take the admission then you must apply to the college online or offline.
  • The college will then review your application and get back to you if you have been shortlisted.
  • They will call you for a personal interview and you will be given direct admission to all the BNYS colleges.
  • The admission to the government college will be done through counseling.

Eligibility Criteria

Here you will get the complete information about the eligibility criteria for taking admission to any BNYS college. Please do read it carefully.

  • You must have passed 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from a recognized board.
  • You must have secured at least 50%(General) or 40%(OBC/SC/ST) in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  • You must be at least 17 years of age by 31st December of the year of taking admission.

Documents Needed

The candidates must have the following documents ready with you while taking admission to BNYS colleges.

  • 10th Marks Card.
  • 12th Marks Card.
  • 12th Pass certificate.
  • Transfer Certificate or TC.
  • Conduct Certificate.
  • Migration Certificate.
  • Income certificate, if applicable.
  • Community certificate, if applicable.
  • Identity Proof like Aadhar Card, Voters ID, etc.

Please do keep at least 3 attested copies of the certificate which you can use in case of urgency. You have to submit your original documents in the college.

BNYS Fee Structure

The fee structure for the BNYS course depends on colleges. The fees for government colleges will be around Rs.10,000 to Rs.20,000 per year depending on the state.

If you are looking to join any good BNYS college then you can expect a tuition fee of around Rs.60,000 to Rs.1.50 lakhs year.

Apart from this, you will have to pay extra for food, accommodation and examination fees.
