BDS Eligibility Criteria

• Students are chosen based on the results of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET).
• Candidates seeking admission must have passed the two-year Pre-University Examination of Karnataka’s Pre-University Board (or an equivalent qualifying examination from another recognized board) with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their core subjects. 
• The candidate must have secured at least 50% of the aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, as well as a pass in English in the qualifying examination, or any other examination recognized as equivalent by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru (Bangalore), Karnataka. 
• Students from Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) or other minority groups recognized by the government will be awarded a 10% reduction in the aggregate marks necessary for eligibility.

• Prof. Ashith B. Acharya, an alumnus of the dental college is one of only two forensic odontologists in India who has received recognition from the Dental Council of India. He is the first qualified forensic odontologist in the nation. He mentors graduate students in research presentations and MDS dissertations as well as instructs undergraduate students. He provides valuable opinions and analysis in instances that are submitted to him by the police.
