Welcome to my other exclusive post about one of the best dental colleges in Uttar Pradesh, the Institute of Dental Studies and Technologies. This college is also known as IDST dental college, which is one of the known dental colleges in Delhi NCR.
Here I will talk about every single detail available about IDST dental college. This post is based on complete research online and offline. I even know students who are studying there, which made it easy for me to get completely inside information about the college.
I know it’s not really cool to jump directly about the quality of the college before explaining the basic details.
Yes, I went to IDST dental college on 31st August 2021, that’s a few days after I update this article.
I went there to just check the quality of the college and to meet one of my friends who was doing his MDS in Endodontics there.
He even boasted about the college that it had changed a lot and all. I had visited the college 2 years before too.
I will tell you in a single word “EXCELLENT”! 😀
Yes, I mean it! I could give you a 100% guarantee that you can get the best patient exposure in here especially for Endodontic and Orthodontic treatments.
If you are looking for dental colleges in UP with excellent patient exposure, you can go and see IDST dental college. I had seen and experienced it myself.
I am not telling it is the No.1 dental college in UP. But, I would say this college comes after ITS and Subharti dental college.
IDST dental college is located in a place called Modinagar in Ghaziabad. It comes under the Delhi/NCR area. The college is around 69 km from the Delhi international airport. It is located on the Delhi-Meerut road.

Brief about IDST Dental College
College Name: IDST Dental College or Institute of Dental Studies and Technologies.
University: Chaudhary Charan Singh University or CCS.
Established Year: 2000.
Yearly Intake: 100 seats for BDS.
MDS Available: Yes.
Hospital: Have attached my own hospital.
DCI Approved: Yes.
The number of Dental Chairs: 340.
Hostel Facility: Both Boys and Girls are available.
IDST dental college is one of the known top private dental colleges in Uttar Pradesh. It is a private dental college located in Modinagar, Ghaziabad. The college is around 69 km far from the Delhi international airport.
The college is affiliated to Chaudhary Charan Sing University and is also approved by the Dental Council of India. The college was established in the year 2000 with a total intake of 100 seats for BDS. They also offer MDS in the following departments:
- Oral Surgery.
- Oral Pathology.
- Public Health Dentistry.
- Oral Medicine.
They also have their own attached hospital on the campus. They have around 340 dental chairs attached in the college and hospital. IDST dental college also conducts regular camps in and around Ghaziabad, to give maximum exposure to their students.
The college is run by Padmashree L.K Gandhi and Mr. Vikram Gandhi. As of my knowledge they had tried their best to bring the most out-up in giving great facilities in the college.
The students from the college never complained about the quality of education. The best departments in the college are Orthodontics and Endodontics. The college is also approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Here I would like to tell you about a few facilities IDST dental college is having.
Hostel and Food
The college is having separate hostels for boys and girls. The hostel is provided with 24×7 security and also clean. There is an in-house gym. The food quality is good and is great when compared to other colleges.
Each floor of the college has many classrooms which are equipped with projectors and other necessary gadgets. The students are happy with the classroom environment and other related things.
The college has an attached cafeteria that serves hygienic and quality snacks, drinks, and food.
IDST dental college has labs for both clinical and pre-clinical departments, with the latest technology equipment. They have labs for:
- Pre-clinical operative.
- Pre-clinical Prosthodontics.
IDST dental college has many new generation equipments, which gives a great exposure to students. The college has equipment like:
- Endodontic Microscope.
- Latest dental chairs.
- Micromotors and Handpiece.
- OPG machine.
- X-Ray Machines.
- Apex locator.
- Endo motor.
- High-intensity light cures etc.
They also have a lot of equipment which I am not aware of. I will surely update it as soon as possible.
IDST Dental College Library
IDST dental college has a very good library with a great range of books in Dentistry. They also keep magazines, journals, research papers, the thesis which are needed in dentistry. This keeps the students updated about the newest treatments in dentistry.
Information About Each Department in IDST Dental College
I would like all of you to know in-depth about the Institute of Dental Studies and Technologies. So, here I will be discussing each department and its features.
The orthodontics department is one of the best in IDST dental college. Yes, it is and it was once said by a student of this dental college. The department is headed by Dr.Puneet Batra, who is supported by Dr.Saurab Sonar, Dr.Anu Singla, and Dr.Kriti Rai. The department once published the first manual about National Integrated Typodont.
This is the department in which you will be able to learn about braces, teeth alignment, etc.
In this department, you will learn about prostheses. Will be learning about keeping artificial teeth, cutting the crown of teeth, etc.
This department is headed by Dr.Narendra Kumar. The other staff in the department are Dr.Kunwarjeet Singh, Dr.Anshu Malhotra, and Dr. Nandini SInghal. The departments regularly conduct various CDE programs in the college.
OP department is headed by Dr. Vineeta Gupta and supported by Dr.Nutan Tyagi, Dr.Nitin Ahuja, and Dr.Akansha Mishra. In this department, you will learn about different slides and studying pathology under the microscope.
Endodontics or Conservative Dentistry
In this department, you will learn Root Canal Treatments, Veneers, Composite, etc. This is also one of the best departments in IDST dental college, Modinagar. This department is headed by Dr.Sumeet Sharma and supported by Dr.Atul Gupta, Dr.Rishi Manan, and Dr.Vinisha Pandey.
The endodontic department conducts regular camps and another short-term hands-on course in the college.
Public Health Dentistry or PCD
As the name suggests it is about Public health and some call this department as PCD or Preventive and Community Dentistry. This department is headed by Dr.Shilpa Singh, Dr.Mohit Dadu, and Dr. Zohra Jabin.
Courses Available in IDST Dental College
The college offers both BDS and MDS. In BDS there is a total of 100 seats and for MDS all departments are available. The seating capacity for MDS is as below:
- Orthodontics – 5 seats.
- Endodontics – 5 seats.
- Periodontics – 5 seats.
- Prosthodontics – 5 seats.
- Oral Pathology – 3 seats.
- Oral Medicine – 3 seats.
- Oral Surgery – 2 seats.
Admission Procedure in IDST Dental College
Here I will explain to you about admission procedures for both BDS and MDS. Please do read it carefully to get an exact idea.
BDS Admission in IDST
To get BDS admission in IDST dental college you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Qualify the NEET-UG entrance exam.
- Have at least 50% marks aggregate in 12th standard.
- Have at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English separately.
After you have a qualified NEET-UG exam you must attend the online centralized counseling which is conducted by UPDGM.
MDS Admission Procedure
To secure an MDS seat in IDST dental college you must qualify the NEET-PG entrance exam. Without qualifying NEET you won’t be able to take admission in any dental college in India.
After that, you must attend the centralized counseling and opt for IDST dental college to get admission.
List of Documents Needed for Admission
You must have the following documents ready with you, before taking admission to the Institute of Dental Studies and Technologies:
- 10th Marks card.
- 12th pass certificate.
- 12th marks card.
- Transfer Certificate.
- Migration Certificate.
- Conduct certificate.
- NEET Scorecard.
- Aadhar Card.
- Passport size photos – 4 nos.
IDST Dental College Fee Structure
The fee structure for BDS and MDS will be different. For BDS the fee structure will be:
- Rs.3.46 lakh per year.
- Rs.85,000/year for hostel and food.
- No extra charges for materials.
There are few scholarship schemes given by the college. This is something I came to know when I went to college. You can apply for the same and save few bucks.
The fee structure for MDS in IDST dental college:
For MDS fee structure will be different for different colleges. The fees will be around Rs.5 – Rs.8 lakh per year depending on the department. This will be including your hostel and food.

IDST Dental College Ranking
There is no specific ranking for dental colleges like NIRF. But as of my experience, I would rank the college as No.4 in Delhi NCR/Ghaziabad Area and No.6 in Uttar Pradesh state.
Quality and infrastructure are excellent, but the general hospital building is pretty old. Anyway, that’s a 20-year-old dental college in UP.

My Personal Review About IDST Dental College
Best Department: Ortho and Endo.
I went to the college a few days back as I wanted to meet a few of my friends in Delhi NCR. I was really surprised to see the patient flow there.
I would say there are fewer patients in colleges in Bangalore comparing with IDST Dental College.
I had tried my best to give you all the information regarding IDST dental college. I had personally visited this college and also know a few students who are doing their UG and PG in this college. All the information given here is from my personal research.
