IDST Dental College is located in a place called Modinagar in Ghaziabad. It comes under the Delhi/NCR area. The college is around 69 km from the Delhi International Airport. It is located on the Delhi-Meerut road.

IDST Dental College is one of the known top private dental colleges in Uttar Pradesh. It is a private dental college located in Modinagar, Ghaziabad. The college is around 69 km far from the Delhi International Airport.
The college is affiliated with Chaudhary Charan Sing University and is also approved by the Dental Council of India. The college was established in the year 2000 with a total intake of 100 seats for BDS. They also offer MDS in the following departments:
- Orthodontics.
- Endodontics.
- Prosthodontics.
- Pedodontics.
- Periodontics.
- Oral Surgery.
- Oral Pathology.
- Public Health Dentistry.
- Oral Medicine.
They also have their own attached hospital on campus. They have around 340 dental chairs attached to the college and hospital. IDST dental college also conducts regular camps in and around Ghaziabad, to give maximum exposure to their students.
The college is run by Padmashree L.K Gandhi and Mr Vikram Gandhi. As of my knowledge, they had tried their best to bring the most out-up in giving great facilities in the college.
The students from the college never complained about the quality of education. The best departments in the college are Orthodontics and Endodontics. The college is also approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Fee Structure
INR 2.75 lakhs per annum including Food and Hostel and INR 18 thousand Miscellaneous fees for first-year Apron and material.

Here I would like to tell you about a few facilities IDST Dental College has.
Hostel and Food
The college has separate hostels for boys and girls. The hostel is provided with 24×7 security and is also clean. There is an in-house gym, which can be used at an extra charge per month. The food quality is good, as I had my lunch there.
Theatre Classrooms
Each floor of the college has many classrooms that are equipped with projectors and other necessary gadgets. The students are happy with the classroom environment and other related things.
Cafe
The college has an attached cafeteria that serves hygienic and quality snacks, drinks, and food.
Labs
IDST Dental College has labs for both clinical and pre-clinical departments, with the latest technology equipment. They have labs for:

I would like all of you to know in-depth about the Institute of Dental Studies and Technologies. So, here I will be discussing each department and its features.
Orthodontics
The orthodontics department is one of the best in IDST dental college. Yes, it is and it was once said by a student of this dental college. The department is headed by Dr. Achint Juneja, who is supported by Dr. Saurab Sonar, Dr. Anu Singla, and Dr. Kriti Rai. The department once published the first manual about National Integrated Typodont.
This is the department in which you will be able to learn about braces, teeth alignment, etc.
Prosthodontics
In this department, you will learn about prostheses. Will be learning about keeping artificial teeth, cutting the crown of teeth, etc.
This department is headed by Dr Narendra Kumar. The other staff in the department are Dr Kunwarjeet Singh, Dr Anshu Malhotra, and Dr Nandini SInghal. The departments regularly conduct various CDE programs in the college.
Oral Pathology
OP department is headed by Dr. Vineeta Gupta and supported by Dr. Nutan Tyagi, Dr. Nitin Ahuja, and Dr. Akansha Mishra. In this department, you will learn about different slides and study pathology under the microscope.
Endodontics or Conservative Dentistry
In this department, you will learn Root Canal Treatments, Veneers, Composite, etc. This is also one of the best departments in IDST Dental College, Modinagar. This department is headed by Dr. Rishi Manan and supported by Dr. Atul Gupta, Dr. Parul, and Dr. Vinisha Pandey.
The endodontic department conducts regular camps and another short-term hands-on course in the college.
Public Health Dentistry or PCD
As the name suggests it is about Public health and some call this department PCD or Preventive and Community Dentistry. This department is headed by Dr. Shilpa Singh, Dr. Mohit Dadu, and Dr. Zohra Jabin.
Courses Available in IDST Dental College
The college offers both BDS and MDS. In BDS there is a total of 100 seats and for MDS all departments are available. The seating capacity for MDS is as below:
- Orthodontics – 5 seats.
- Endodontics – 5 seats.
- Periodontics – 5 seats.
- Prosthodontics – 5 seats.
- Oral Pathology – 3 seats.
- Oral Medicine – 3 seats.
- Oral Surgery – 2 seats.
Admission Procedure in IDST Dental College
Here I will explain to you about admission procedures for both BDS and MDS. Please read it carefully to get an exact idea.
BDS Admission in IDST
To get BDS admission to IDST dental college you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Qualify for the NEET-UG entrance exam.
- Have at least 50% marks aggregate in 12th standard.
- Have at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English separately.
After you have a qualified NEET-UG exam you must attend the online centralized counselling which is conducted by UPDGM.
MDS Admission Procedure
To secure an MDS seat in IDST dental college you must qualify for the NEET-PG entrance exam. Without qualifying for NEET you won’t be able to be admitted to any dental college in India.
After that, you must attend centralized counseling and opt for IDST dental college to get admission.
List of Documents Needed for Admission
You must have the following documents ready with you, before taking admission to the Institute of Dental Studies and Technologies:
- 10th Marks card.
- 12th pass certificate.
- 12th marks card.
- Transfer Certificate.
- Migration Certificate.
- Conduct certificate.
- NEET Scorecard.
- Aadhar Card.
- Passport size photos – 4 nos.
IDST Dental College Fee Structure
The fee structure for BDS and MDS will be different. For BDS the fee structure will be:
- Rs.3.68 lakh per year.
- Rs.85,000/year for hostel and food.
- One-time extra charges – Rs.20,000 for books and uniforms.
There are few scholarship schemes given by the college. This is something I came to know when I went to college. You can apply for the same and save a few bucks.
The fee structure for MDS in IDST dental college:
For MDS fee structure will be different for different colleges. The fees will be around Rs.5 – Rs.8 lakh per year depending on the department. This will include your hostel and food.
They charge around Rs.1 lakh as material charges and Rs.1.25 lakhs for hostel and food per month.
IDST Dental College Ranking
There is no specific ranking for dental colleges like NIRF. Quality and infrastructure are excellent, but the general hospital building is pretty old. Anyway, that’s a 20-year-old dental college in UP.

- Education: Excellent.
- Faculty: Great.
- Best Department: Ortho and Endo.
- Infrastructure: Excellent.
I went to the college a few days back as I wanted to meet a few of my friends in Delhi NCR. I was really surprised to see the patient flow there.
I would say there are fewer patients in colleges in Bangalore compared with IDST Dental College.
