BDS Admission in Bangalore 2025-26: Complete Information

Welcome to our exclusive post about BDS admission. I’m Dr. Aditya Maitra, Quality & Research Expert at CareerMudhra. In this guide, I wish to provide complete information on BDS admission in Bangalore.

In this post, we will share complete details regarding BDS Admission in Bangalore 2025 which covers detailed admission procedures to dental colleges or BDS in Bangalore, the latest BDS fee structure, a list of documents needed for Admission or registration, and more.

FIRST IS FIRST: To gain BDS admission in Bangalore (or Karnataka in general), candidates must qualify NEET-UG and participate in either the All India Quota (AIQ) counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), or the Karnataka state counselling conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). BDS admissions in Karnataka fall under two major categories: AIQ (managed by the MCC) and the state quota (managed by the KEA). While state quota seats in government colleges are primarily reserved for Karnataka domicile candidates, private college seats—including Management and NRI quotas—are open to NEET-qualified candidates from any state.

The two specific colleges that no longer provide BDS programs are Maruthi Dental College and Syamala Reddy Dental College (SJR Dental College).

There were, in total, 16 private dental colleges in Bangalore. Among them, 14 are recognized by DCI (Dental Council of India), and 13 colleges offer post-graduation dental programs as well. One college doesn’t offer an MDS program.

NEET Eligibility is mandatory to get a seat in any of the dental colleges under RGUHS. Students from other states are also eligible to participate in the counselling procedure.

Some are attached to medical colleges on the same campus. Some are on different campuses but are under the same management as medical colleges, whereas some are only pure dental colleges. All these colleges come under RGUHS (Rajiv Gandhi University of Health and Sciences).

BDS Admission in Bangalore Process

Before, if you qualified for NEET, you could go directly to the college and get BDS admission through the management quota.

But now, the situation is different. The candidate has to attend the online counselling conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority if you want to get admission to any dental college in Bangalore.

KEA Counseling Procedure 2025

Here, I will tell you the complete procedures for KEA online counselling. All the steps involved in the counselling are mentioned below in detail.

1. Qualification

The first and foremost thing is that the candidate must qualify for the NEET-UG entrance exam.

2. Online Registration

If you qualify for NEET, then you must go to the KEA official website at kea.kar.nic. and register by paying a fee of around Rs.2500.

3. Document Verification

KEA will announce the date for document verification on their website. The document verification will be done both offline and online.
The document verification will be done online for non-Karnataka students who wish to be admitted to private dental colleges in Karnataka.
– Upload the required documents and wait for the provisionally verified lists to be uploaded by KEA.
– You can check your name on that list and download the verification slip online.
– The documents will be verified offline for NRI-sponsored candidates and Karnataka-domicile candidates.
– The candidate must be physically present with all the original documents at the KEA office.

4. Online Counseling Rounds

The candidate must log in to the KEA account on the counselling date and be given the choice of college they want to join. The allotment result will be published in a few days. If you can’t get a seat in the first round, you can attend the second round of counselling.

5. MOP-UP Round

After the second round of counselling, the vacant seats will be allotted in the MOP-UP round

6. Stray Vacancy Round

The KEA will conduct stray vacancy and extended stray vacancy rounds after the MopUp round for the vacant seats.

Note: You won’t be eligible to be admitted to any dental college without registering and attending the counselling procedures.
