First is first: To get BDS admission in Karnataka, a student must qualify NEET-UG 2025 with the required cut-off marks set by the NTA based on their category. After qualifying, the student must register and participate in counselling conducted either by the MCC (All India Counselling) or by the KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority), and attend all rounds of counselling. Karnataka is an open state for BDS admission, which means students from other states are also eligible to apply bds admission in Karnataka. The state offers All India Quota (AIQ) seats managed by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), which are open to students from across the country, including non-residents of Karnataka. Additionally, students from other states can apply for BDS programs in Karnataka’s private and deemed universities under the AIQ, management, or NRI quotas.

BDS Admission in Karnataka Eligibility for 2025
The following steps are required to get admission to any BDS college in Karnataka-
Step 1: Clear NEET-UG 2025 Examination
Step 2: Register yourself by paying INR 2500 at the KEA official website (https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/)
Step 3: Verification of your documents will be done by the KEA
Step 4: Participate in the counselling rounds
Step 5: A seat will be allotted to you in a BDS college based on your score and your choices
BDS Admission in Karnataka Process 2025
To get admission in a dental college in Karnataka, candidates first need to be qualified for the NEET. Then, the candidate has to attend the online counselling conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority to get admission to any dental college in Karnataka. Candidates seeking admission to deemed universities in Karnataka must register separately through the national counselling conducted by MCC.
BDS Admission is conducted through two counselling authorities:
- Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA):
Conducts counselling for 85% state quota seats in government dental colleges and all seats in private dental colleges, including management and NRI quota seats within Karnataka. NRI candidates or those applying under the NRI quota must select NRI seats during KEA counselling and submit relevant documents as per KEA guidelines. - Medical Counselling Committee (MCC):
Handles 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in Karnataka’s government dental colleges and all BDS seats in Deemed Dental Universities in Karnataka. NRI quota seats in deemed universities are also allotted through MCC counselling, and candidates must choose the NRI category at the time of registration.
Candidates must register separately for KEA counselling and MCC counselling, depending on the type of seat and institution they are applying for.
BDS KEA Counseling Procedure 2025
Qualification
The first and foremost the candidate must qualify for the NEET-UG 2025 entrance exam.
Online Registration
If you have qualified for NEET, then you must go to the official website at kea.kar.nic.in and register by paying a fee of around Rs.2500.
Document Verification
KEA will announce the date for document verification on their website. The document verification will be done both offline and online. The document verification will be done online for non-Karnataka students who wish to be admitted to private dental colleges in Karnataka.
– Upload the required documents and wait for the provisionally verified lists to be uploaded by KEA.
– You can check your name on that list and download the verification slip online.
– The documents will be verified offline for NRI-sponsored candidates and Karnataka-domicile candidates.
– The candidate must be physically present with all the original documents at the KEA office.
Online Counseling Rounds
The candidate must log in to the KEA account on the counselling date and be given the choice of college they want to join. The allotment result will be published in a few days. If you can’t get a seat in the first round, you can attend the second round of counselling.
MOP-UP Round
After the second round of counselling, the vacant seats will be allotted in the MOP-UP round.
Stray Vacancy Round
The KEA will conduct stray vacancy and extended stray vacancy rounds after the MopUp round for the vacant seats.
