Eligibility Criteria for UG

Candidates seeking admissions to various undergrad and postgrad level physiotherapy programs, must fulfill the following criteria as mentioned below.

D. Pharm (2-Years Program)

Candidates must have passed 12th Standard with Science, PCM/ PCB/ PCMB or any other equivalent examination which is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India.

B. Pharm (4-Years Program)

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 or 12th Standard with Science stream.
  • The aggregate score of PCM/ PCB/ PCMB/ PC with Computer Science or Electronics must be 45%
  • For SC/ ST/ OBC, the aggregate score must be 40%.
  • D. Pharm candidates are eligible to get direct admission to Second year B. Pharm

Pharm. D (6-Years Program)

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2/12th Standard with Science Stream
  • The aggregate score of PCM/ PCB/ PCMB/ D. Pharm must be 45%. 
  • For SC/ ST/ OBC Candidates, the score must be 40%.

The documents required for admissions to the UG courses (D. Pharm, B. Pharm and Pharm. D) are:

Courses Offered 

Al Ameen College of Pharmacy Bangalore offers courses for undergraduate to doctoral levels. The course offerings are:

Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm)

The course duration of D. Pharm is for a time period of 2 academic years. Each year is spread over a period of 128 working days, in addition to the 500 hours of the practical training which is spread over a time of 3 months.

Bachelor in Pharmacy (B. Pharm)

The course time period for studying B. Pharm is for 8 semesters (4 years) for regular entry and 6 semesters (3 years) for students under lateral entry. The course and the syllabi are prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.

Credit Based Semester System is followed for the academic work, which is theory classes, practical classes and the tutorial hours are measured in terms of the credit. On the completion of the course, the student will earn the credit. The amount of credit is dependent on the hours of instruction on the subject. Similarly, there is credit for extracurricular activities done per week.

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D)

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D) is a course for a duration of 6 years in which 5 years are for academics and 1 year is for the internship in the hospital.

Pharm. D – Post Baccalaureate

The course is for a duration of 3 years which includes 1 year of internship in a hospital. The main purpose of developing the pharmacists who can play an important role in the learning courses in the changing trends in the field of pharmaceuticals.

Master in Pharmacy (M. Pharm)

The M. Pharm course extends for a period of 4 semesters (2 academic years). The curriculum and the syllabi for the course is given by the Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.

Girls Hostel

The girls hostel was established in the year 1997. It is centrally located and also provides a safe environment for the girls to stay. It is around 2 kms from the college and it is well connected by all means of transport.

Boys Hostel

The boy’s hostel is located very close to the college, with all the modern amenities and also a dedicated staff. The hostel mess has a modernized kitchen with state of the art facilities, for preparing hygienic food. It also has a beautiful dining hall.

Library

Library acts as the source of knowledge for the students and the faculties. It is designed in such a way to facilitate the students and provide a good reading environment. It is well equipped with resources in the form of textbooks, reference books, study materials, journals, thesis and the WHO publications of the journals and the books. 

The Central Library at Al Ameen College of Pharmacy provides its services to 7 other well equipped libraries and also to 2 libraries at the hostels.

Seminar Hall

The seminar hall has got a seating capacity for around 70 people. It is fully furnished with equipment such as the Projectors, Camera’s, TV’s, Audio Systems, Pull down screens and a state of the art audience systems with cordless microphones.

Medicinal Garden

A medicinal garden which has medicinal plants are placed in decorative pots within the college campus. It is done to make the students familiar with the herbal drugs, which they are studying in their course. Each of the plants are labelled in order to provide basic information about the source, plant family, plant uses and its chemical constituents.

Counselling Cell

Students are provided counselling services based on confidentiality with the faculty. Those who need the guidance can avail the services. Each faculty member is allotted some students for counselling.
