I got to know about Cauvery College of Nursing, Mysuru, from one of my acquaintances who was studying there. She was happy sharing about how the college has given her entry into the healthcare field. Cauvery Group of Institutions is among the well-known colleges in the city.

Cauvery College of Nursing Mysuru Overview

Cauvery Group of Institutions was established in 2001 by Dr.Chandrasekhar Foundation, a Charitable Trust. Cauvery College of Nursing was started in 2003. It is among the top colleges in Karnataka. It is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and is also recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and Karnataka State Nursing Council (KSNC).

Postgraduate courses started in 2008. After getting approved by RGUHS, M.Sc. with five specializations was started. Cauvery Nursing College has completed over seventeen years of education in the field of nursing and also has trained more than two thousand five hundred students to enter the healthcare field throughout the country and worldwide.

It has got a sprawling campus located at #131/1,2D,2E,2F, KBL Layout, on Devegowda Circle, Mysuru-28 Karnataka. The highly qualified and experienced faculties provide in-depth knowledge in the field. It has got modern state of art facilities for the students who come to study there.

 

Courses 

Nursing is a noble profession as it involves looking after and caring for sick people. It believes in inculcating the values of integrity, academic excellence, innovativeness, and compassion in its students.

Cauvery College of Nursing offers graduate, post-graduate, diploma, and master’s level programs. Bachelor in Nursing(B.Sc. Nursing), Master of Science in Nursing(M.Sc. in Nursing), Post B.Sc. Nursing, M.Sc in Nurse Practitioner in Critical Care, and Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery are the courses available.

Bachelor in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) at Cauvery College of Nursing Mysuru

Bachelor in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) is a course for a duration of four years. There are four examinations held every year.

M.Sc. in Nurse Practitioner in Critical Care at Cauvery College of Nursing Mysuru

M.Sc. in Nurse Practitioner in Critical Care is a post-graduate course for a duration of two years.

Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery(GNM)

A diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery is a course for a duration of three years. It can be taken after completing the 12th standard.

Eligibility

Academic Eligibility criteria for admission to B.Sc. Nursing is:

  1. Must have passed 10 +2/PUC or any other exams conducted by a Boards/Council/Intermediate Education which has been established by the Central/State Government with the English language as one of the subjects. Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the optional subjects.
  2. The combined score for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English together must be forty-five percent.
  3. For SC/ST students, the combined score is forty percent.
  4. Must submit eligibility certificate from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS).
  5. Must have completed seventeen years of age as on the time of getting admissions.

Eligibility criteria for getting admission to M.Sc. Nursing is:

  1. Passed B.Sc. (Nursing) or Post B.Sc.(Nursing) or Post Certificate B.Sc. Nursing of RGUHS or from any other university which is considered equivalent by RGUHS and must score a minimum of fifty-five percent.SC/ST students must score a minimum of fifty percent.
  2. Minimum work experience of one year after completing B.Sc. Nursing or one year of work experience from a hospital or educational institution which is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).
  3. Must be registered in any State Nursing Council as a nurse and midwife.
  4. Students must be physically fit to undertake the course.
  5. The minimum age for General Category is below forty-eight years and for SC/ST students below fifty years of age, at the time of getting admissions.

Eligibility Criteria for admission to Post B.Sc. (Nursing) are:

  1. Students must have completed General Nursing and Midwifery.
  2. Must be registered with Karnataka State Nursing Council.
  3. Must be physically fit to undertake the course.

To get admission to M.Sc. in Nurse Practitioner in Critical Care, the following criteria must be fulfilled:

  1. Students must have completed B.Sc. (Nursing) from a recognized college or university.
  2. Must have at least one year of work experience after completing B.Sc.(Nursing).
  3. Must be a registered nurse with Karnataka State Nursing Council.

The following criteria must be followed while taking admission to the GNM Course:

  1. Must have passed 12th Standard preferably Science (PCB) with English with a combined score of forty percent.
  2. Must have passed 12th Standard Arts or Healthcare Science-Vocational stream, passing out from recognized board CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/AISSCE or equivalent board with forty percent.
  3. Students must be qualified in 12th Science or Arts or Healthcare conducted by the national open school with forty percentage marks.
  4. 12th standard vocational ANM, from CBSE or any other board with forty percent.
  5. The minimum age and maximum age are seventeen and thirty-five years.
  6. Registered as ANM with the Karnataka State Nursing Council.
  7. Students must be fit to undergo the course.

Admission Process 2022 for Cauvery College of Nursing Mysuru

  3. Thirdly, the selection of the candidates is based on entrance tests and counseling conducted by the college.
