Eligibility for BDS

  • The applicant must be 17 years old before December 31 of the year for acceptance in the BDS programme.
  • The aspiring applicant must have earned a minimum of a 50 per cent aggregate in the 10+2 qualifying exam or an equivalent degree from a recognised institution.
  • Physics, Chemistry, and Biology must have been required coursework for their 10+2 grade.

Note: For purposes of admission to the BDS program, math scores will not be considered.

  • The qualifying scores should be 40 per cent instead of 50 per cent for applicants who are members of scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, and other backward classes (OBC).
  • People with locomotor disabilities of the lower limbs must obtain at least a 45 per cent grade in both the qualifying exam and the competitive entrance exam to be admitted to BDS rather than the previous requirement of per cent.

Note: Students are chosen for dental institutions based on their performance in the EAMCET test, which is administered by the government of Andhra Pradesh.

Registration Process

  • Within one month of the date of entering the college, a candidate enrolled on the course at any of the affiliated colleges must submit an application for registration with this university using the required form.
  • Through the College Principal, the University should receive the application for registration in the required form and with the necessary money. 
  • The university will then assign a unique identification number that the student can use till the course is finished. 
  • The student’s application for the university test will not be approved if he does not have this identity number, which disqualifies him as an official University student.

  • In non-government institutions, the competent authority will fill 50% of all seats, and the institution’s management will fill the remaining 50% based on merit.
