Rajarajeshwari College of physiotherapy Bangalore is one of the oldest colleges, which was established in the year 2003, under the Moogambigai Charitable and Educational Trust. The trust was founded by the Chairman Dr. A. C. Shanmugam in the year 1992. The main purpose of the trust was to establish institutions that provide academic excellence.

It is affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and the Indian Association of Physiotherapists. It is also recognized by the Government of Karnataka. The college is located in Kambipura, Mysore Road, Kengeri Hobli, in Bangalore.

 

The Chairman of the institution is Dr. A. C. Shanmugam and the Vice-Chairman is Mr. A.C.S Arun Kumar. The highly qualified, experienced, and excellent faculties here, provide guidance and mentoring to the students during their study here. Some of the faculties are:

They are required to choose their area of study for the dissertation and for submitting the synopsis.

The learning methodology includes seminars, reviews of journals, case presentations, case discussions, and classroom teaching. They have to attend conferences, and workshops in order to enhance their knowledge during the course of study.

The specializations offered in MPT are:

  1. Master’s in Physiotherapy in Musculoskeletal Disorders and Sports (MPT-MSS).
  2. Master’s in Physiotherapy in Neurological and Psychosomatic Disorders (MPT-NPD).
  3. Master’s in Physiotherapy in Cardio-respiratory Disorders (MPT-CRD).

Eligibility Criteria

Students who are looking for admission to the BPT course must satisfy the following criteria:

  1. Must have passed the two-year pre-university examination, conducted by the Department of Pre-University education from the State of Karnataka. The optional subjects the student should have passed are Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with English. The students are also required to pass the subjects individually.
  2.  Must have passed any other examination/Boards/Council/Intermediate Examination which is established by the State/Central Government and is also recognized as equivalent to the pre-university examination by Rajiv Gandhi Health Sciences Institute (RGUHS)and Association of Indian Universities(AIU), with English as one subject, along with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  3. The student must have passed Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as optional subjects and individually also.
  4. Must have completed the pre-university course with vocational physiotherapy as one of the optional subjects, making them eligible for the BPT course.

Marks required

The selection for the course is based on merit, based on the following:

  1. Must have passed subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with English and should have obtained forty-five percent as the combined score of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the qualifying examination.
  2. In the case of students who belong to the SC/ST category, the combined score in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology should not be less than forty percent.

Age

  • Students applying for BPT should have completed seventeen years of age on the 31st of December on the year of admission.
  • Before getting admission, each student should furnish a medical fitness certificate from an Authorized Medical Officer, stating that he/she is medically fit to undergo a physiotherapy course.

The students looking for admission to MPT should:

  1. Have passed B.Sc. (PT) or BPT Degree from institutions, where the mode of the study is a full time, with a minimum of three and half years/Four years duration from RGUHS university or any other university in India or abroad with 50% aggregate and have completed six months of internship in physiotherapy colleges from RGUHS, in the state of Karnataka are eligible.
  2. The student should have passed BPT through a bridge course after completing their Diploma in Physiotherapy from institutions where the mode of study is a full time, from the university or any other which is in India or abroad with not less than 50% of marks in aggregate and completed six months of internship which is recognized by RGUHS, in the Karnataka state are eligible.
  3. Students who have done BPT through correspondence are not eligible.
  4. They should have obtained an eligibility certificate before the last date of admission which is notified by the university.
  5. The student should have been admitted to the postgraduate course and should register his/her name in the university, within a month of getting admission after paying the registration fees.
  6. Have good knowledge of English.
  7. Should be medically fit and also have a good personal and professional record.

Age

  • The student who is willing to take admission should have completed seventeen years of age on the 31st December on the year of admission.
  • Each student should furnish the medical fitness certificate from the authorized medical officer, he/she should be medically fit to undergo the course.
