BDS Admission Without Donation 2024-25 – The Ultimate Guide to BDS Admission

This is a guide on how to get BDS admission without donation in India through management quota or NRI quota.

I am a NEET-UG Guidance expert, guiding students for almost a decade to join different medical courses.

In this post, I will be sharing with you things related to BDS admission, which I have seen and experienced over the past few years.

I guess you might have gone through my article on BDS Admission through management quota, which clearly explains how to select a dental college, what benefits I provide, and a lot more. If not you can just go through that first.

NEET UG 2024 Cutoff is higher than expected this year with 164 as the minimum score limit for the General category, check out the detailed description of the cutoff table given below:

  • For the Unreserved/EWS (UR/EWS) category, the cut-off percentile is the 50th percentile, with a cut-off score range of 720 to 164. The number of candidates in this category is 1,165,904.
  • For the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category, the cut-off percentile is the 40th percentile, with a cut-off score range of 163 to 129. The number of candidates in this category is 100,769.
  • For the Scheduled Caste (SC) category, the cut-off percentile is the 40th percentile, with a cut-off score range of 163 to 129. The number of candidates in this category is 34,326.
  • For the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category, the cut-off percentile is the 40th percentile, with a cut-off score range of 163 to 129. The number of candidates in this category is 14,478.

The date of declaration of the NEET UG 2024 result was 04.06.2024. and the academic session for the UG courses started on 01.10.2024. If you want to take admission to neet ug courses you have to wait for NEET UG 2025.

From the academic year 2017-18, all dental and medical admissions are to be done through NEET Centralised Counselling, including the management and NRI seats.

The seats which are vacant even after the second counseling will be given to meritorious students through online admission based on NEET Score and their preference of option entry.

In order to get direct admission to any of the private dental colleges across India, a student should have qualified NEET-UG by securing the minimum qualifying marks.

If we take an average of past years of NEET, a student should always target a minimum of 155-165 marks in NEET to be on the safer side.

MCC Counseling Updates 2024
  • OCI applicants can apply for UR category management positions, as opposed to last year, when they could only apply for NRI positions.
  • The fourth step, the stray vacancy round, which was previously held at the college level offline, will be held online through MCC counseling.
  • Registration for the fourth round, the Mop-Up Stray Vacancy phase, will be open.
  • The third round, previously known as the Mop-Up Round in 2023, will be known as the Third Counseling Round, and the stray vacancy round will be known as the Mop-Up Stray Vacancy Round. Any other round conducted after this will be called as special stray vacancy round.

However, dental colleges in different states have different fee structures. It is easier to get direct admission in almost all the private dental colleges in India if the student has qualified for NEET and can afford the prescribed fee structures.

Taking the correct steps in counseling procedures will avoid last-minute surprises and will help in securing a BDS seat without any donation in the future.
BDS Admission Without Donation

What would be the Fees for BDS admission without donation?

The tuition fees will be fixed by the state medical or examination authority after the NEET results are published.

Example: Karnataka BDS management fee will be updated on KEA or Karnataka examination authority website.

The college doesn’t have any right to charge anything more than the fee listed on the official website. But, keep in mind that the Hostel, Food, University Fees, etc will be charged extra.

But the colleges can reduce their fee structure if the demand of the course is on a lesser side. Due to the online counseling, most of the students were ready and took online allotment to take admission last year. So there might be students ready to take BDS admission this year in 2024 as well.

To make it safer and financially stable, the colleges might reduce the fee structure year. So, you have got a chance to take BDS admission without donation this year.

I have a few dental colleges in India that give special fees for students referred by CareerMudhra.

We have colleges providing BDS admission from 9 Lakhs total package including hostel and food. The fees depend upon different colleges. You can check the list of colleges in any state in DCI.

Thanks to NEET’s new rules you can study BDS without a donation. Obviously, some colleges have already kept their fees very high. The fee structure for different colleges in different parts of India is different. However, I will list a few mandatory things for BDS admission without donation through management or NRI quota which is mandatory:

  • NEET Score Card.
  • NEET Admit card.
  • 10th Marks Sheet and Pass Certificate.
  • 12th Marks Sheet and Pass Certificate.
  • Migration Certificate.
  • Transfer Certificate or TC.
  • Conduct Certificate.
  • Identity Card and 4 Passport Size Photo.

Admission is not possible for any NON-NEET eligible candidate. Apart from NEET qualification, the candidate should meet the below-mentioned criteria:

  • At least 50% marks in +2 final exams for General Category.
  • At least 40%marks in +2 final exams for SC/ST/OBC category candidates.

Basic Idea of BDS Course

Most of the candidates interested in BDS admission don’t even know the full form of BDS. Do you know? It is not a Bachelor of Dental Science :P, it is a Bachelor of Dental Surgery.

BDS is a five-year course that includes One Year Internship. The first and second years include non-clinical subjects mainly and working on a dummy. From the third year, you start working on patients, and the same in the final year.

There are nine major departments in BDS, they are listed below:
