Admission Process for BDS

  • The UG NEET merit ranking will be used only for admission.
  • There are 40 new students accepted each year at ACDS. Six of these 40 seats are for Telangana State, while 34 places are for the children of active-duty or retired soldiers.
  • The first notification will be for Telangana State’s six BDS seats under the Competent Authority Quota. For Army Candidates on the 34 Seats, a second notification will be updated.

Note: Candidates for the Army should not register under the Competent Authority Quota since it is solely for citizens of Telangana State. You are instantly disqualified from applying for the 34 Army slots under the management quota if you register under this quota.

  • For admission to ACDS for 34 seats under Category B Management seats, candidates must register online through the KNRUHS website and make a payment of the registration fee.
  • The University will instantly send a candidate a form to acknowledge that they have been registered. The form will be sent with a registration number upon successful registration.

The following documents should be digitally forwarded to ACDS Email by the applicants who get Registration Numbers from KNRUHS for verification:-

  • Acknowledgement Sheet received online from KNRUHS website.
  • Rank Card of NEET Exam.
  • Copy of Ex-Servicemen PPO, ID Card, and Discharge Book.
  • Copy of Serving Certificate and Dependency Certificate.
  • Two contact mobile numbers with names and an alternative email address, preferably one for the candidate and the other for a parent.

With the use of this information, Army College of Dental Sciences Secunderabad will be able to inform candidates of the KNRUHS-issued counselling dates. Candidates must, however, regularly check the KNRUHS website for information on counselling dates.

For students who successfully registered online through the KNRUHS website, KNRUHS announces the merit list based on NEET rank once the registration period has ended. KNRUHS will also publish dates for credential verification and counselling on its website.

Admission Process for MDS 

  • The NEET score and the merit rank will be used to determine admission.
  • The KNR University of Health Sciences will publish two distinct notices for online registration. The first notice is for MDS seats as per the Telangana government’s quota rules and regulations. 
  • After the deadline for registering for government seats, a second notification for Admission into MDS Course is often released.
  • Candidates can choose to apply their name against the Management Quota Seats if they wish to be admitted under the Army Quota.
  • The University will instantly send a candidate a form to acknowledge that they have been registered. The form will be sent with a registration number upon successful registration.

  • The candidate must complete the age of 17 years before 31 December while applying for the BDS Course. 
  • Qualification of NEET (UG) is mandatory.
  • The candidate must have received at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology if taken all at once and must pass respective subjects separately.
  • Students who are passed through the compartment in any subject are not eligible for admission. 
  • The candidate must have a Graduation degree in BDS from a well-established college or university.
  • Qualification of NEET (PG) is mandatory.
  • The candidate must present the certificate of Internship.
  • The college must be acknowledged by the Dental Council of India from where the candidate has completed the BDS Couse. 

Note:- Both ACDS and KNRUHS will confirm the candidate’s eligibility. The college holds the authority to remove a candidate’s application if they are discovered to be ineligible at the time of document verification.

Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
  • The BDS is a five-year undergraduate degree programme (4 years of academic study plus 1 year of required internship). Both full-time and part-time courses are available for this programme. 
  • The only dental surgery educational and professional programme in India is BDS. The only organisation that has dentistry programmes certified is the Dental Council of India. The students following the 12th grade in the medical area are presently in high demand for this course.
Master of Dental Surgery (MDS)
  • A master’s degree programme in dentistry is called “Master of Dental Surgery” or “MDS.” Students with a degree in dental science are eligible to enrol in this course to gain a good comprehension of dental difficulties. 
  • The MDS programme lasts three years. This course can be taken for two years by those who have already earned a postgraduate diploma that has been recognised by DCI.

In layman’s words, this branch is known as “tooth savers,” and it uses fillings and root canal therapy to keep the tooth in the oral cavity.

Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics The science of correcting misaligned teeth and jaws is known as orthodontics. Being the first speciality in dentistry gives it a distinctive significance. Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry  With a mission to provide comprehensive and preventative oral health treatment to children and adolescents of all age groups, including special needs and poor children, the department of Pedodontics and preventive dentistry were established in 2001.
  • The department has highly qualified staff to mentor undergraduate and graduate students. It has been published widely both domestically and abroad.
  • The department runs regular camps, adopts several public schools and autistic centres, and treats patients thereby placing a strong emphasis on preventative care.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery  The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery performs operations with competence ranging from serious facial damage to dentoalveolar procedures, including dental implants and wisdom tooth removal. Additionally handle TMJ issues, facial pathologies, odontogenic tumours, face discomfort, and oral cancer.

Important Note:

  1. This fee structure is only for one year. The fee structure for further years will be given by the college after the commencement of the new academic year.

Mode of Payments

  • Complete the one-time payment of the course at  the time of KNR UHS counselling for admission to ACDS.
  • The demand draft of the Tuition fee and security deposit must be prepared in the name of Army College Dental Sciences (Main Account) and must be payable either at Secunderabad or Hyderabad. It can also be transferred through NET Banking.
  • The demand draft of the hostel fee and mess must be prepared in the name of the college (Hostel/Mess Account)  and must be payable either at Secunderabad or Hyderabad. It can also be transferred through NET Banking.
  • Students can also pay fees in the two instalments either by cash or through Demand Draft which must be paid either at the Secunderabad or Hyderabad Brand of the college. 

Additional Fees:

  • Mess- Students Mess is run by the student committee itself. The monthly charge for mess is Rs. 3750/- (125 Rs per day). The fee for the whole year is Rs. 45,000/- which must be paid at the time of admission. 
  • Gym- The fee for the gym is Rs. 600/- per year (Rs. 50/- for one month). This also can be paid at the time of admission. 

Placements and Scope

There are lots of internships and Placements are given to the students of the Army College of Dental Sciences. They are recruited in various army departments like

  • ECHS (Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme)

This is a branch of army medical care for Ex-Serviceman. This department provides cashless medical aid to former defense persons and their families. The pay scale of ECHS doctors and medical officers is between 9 lakh to 12 lakh per annum. 

  • Army Dental Troops

Provide medical service to all on-duty, reserve, and veteran members of the Army, as well as their families.
