There are four deemed private medical Universities in the beautiful union territory of Pondicherry. We will first list the top deemed medical colleges Rankwise.

• Mahatma Gandhi Medical College Research Institute.
• Aarupadai Veedu Medical College Pondicherry.
• Vinayaka Missions Medical College and Hospital Karaikal.
• Sri Laxmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences.

MGM and Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth

MGM is the best medical college in Pondycherry under the deemed university. It’s a constituent college run by the same management who runs Sri Sathya Sai Medical College in Chennai.

Ranking

It is considered to be among the top 25 private medical colleges in India by NIRF.

Fees

The college charges a Fee structure of 22 lakhs per annum for MBBS and additional fees of 175000 in the first year. Along with that, there are separate charges of 64000 to be paid in the first year.

The Hostel Fee comes across Rs 216000/- pa for twin sharing AC hostel.

This college has a very good OPD, and it’s considered among the top medical college in Pondycherry. 

Aarupadai Veedu Medical College

This is the second top choice for the students who want to study their MBBS or Post Graduation in Pondicherry. The college has an intake of 150 seats for MBBS and 82 seats for Post Graduation.

The architecture is not so promising, but the college has almost all the necessary facilities required in place. 

They have a hospital attached and a hostel on the same campus. This institution is one of the oldest institutions in the field of providing quality medical education.

Fees

The fee for MBBS is Rs 1950000/- per annum for five years. The students have to pay approximately 70000/- per annum as extra misc fees.

The college offers a variety of Hostel accommodation on its campus, starting from AC to non-ac hostels. It starts from Rs 160000/- pa to Rs 370000/- pa.

Vinayka Misions Medical College Karaikal

This medical college was established in the small town of Karaikal, located in the beachside area of the sea bay of Bengal.

The college is a 2.5 hours drive from Pondicherry. It has an intake of 100 seats for the UG and offers post-graduation in many branches.

The college’s Hospital sees lots of patients every day since it is the only multispeciality Hospital in that area.

The fees of the college are approximately Rs 20 lakh per annum.

Sri Laxmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences

SLNIMS was established in the year 2006. It has an annual intake of 250 seats of MBBS, and it has post-graduation in all different branches. This medical college was established in Pondicherry by the same management that manages Sri Balaji medical college and Hospital in Chennai. It comes under deemed universities such as Bharath University.

The college is in Pondicherry and charges Rs 23 lakh per annum fees for the MBBS course. This is the only private medical college in Pondycherry which charges fees for 4.5 years instead of 5 years.Hostel facility is provided for both girls and boys.

Procedure to get direct admission in Deemed Medical Colleges in Pondicherry

The above-listed medical colleges are Private Medical Deemed Universities. The counseling is taken care of by the centralized counseling committee MCC.  The distribution of seats is 15% of the total intake is in NRI Quota, and the rest 85% of the seats are management quota.

The seats are allotted online by MCC as per merit, and students’ preference while doing option entry. The student desirous of studying in these medical colleges should qualify NEET. 

The students, after qualifying NEET, should register themselves on the MCC website by paying a registration amount of Rs 5000/- and a Refundable security deposit of Rs 200000/- to participate in the counseling process for these colleges.

The student can opt for the Deemed Medical Colleges of other states through the same counseling procedure of MCC.  The students opting for NRI category seats should apply and convert their category to NRI at the timeline prescribed by MCC in their portal. The procedure and documents required will be mentioned in the doorway.

The counseling process consists of three rounds. 

First Round, Second Round, and Mop-up round are conducted online. After these three rounds are completed, an online stray vacancy round is conducted by the counselling authorities MCC, and the allotment of the seats to the deserving students based on the NEET Rank.

A student looking to take admission in the offline mop-up round should crossverify because there is nothing called as offline allotment from year 2023 onwards.

The name will not come in the list if the student has been allotted a seat before in any college, but he didn’t report.

In such cases, a student is barred from taking admission in the stray round.

In the online mop-up round, the leftover NRI seats are converted to normal seats. So, the vacant seats are allotted to the meritorious students.

In all the rounds of counseling which takes place online, the student has to download the admission order and pay the prescribed fees and report to the college with the original documents and fees payment receipt.
