Deemed Medical Colleges in Karnataka

Medical Counseling Committee (MCC):

MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) handles counseling for:

  1. 15% All India Quota seats for MBBS/BDS in most states.
  2. 100% MBBS/BDS seats in certain institutions:
    • BHU (Banaras Hindu University)
    • AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) across India

  3. 85% of State Quota seats are in Delhi University and IP University.

Counselling for Deemed Medical Colleges in Karnataka

The NEET UG counseling process for deemed medical colleges in Karnataka involves several important steps. Candidates must follow each step carefully to ensure a smooth counseling experience and increase their chances of securing an MBBS seat.

Step 1 – New User Registration

-> Go to the MCC website to register for NEET UG counseling 2024.
Enter the required information:
– Stream (Medical/Dental)
– NEET UG roll number
– Application number
– Your name
– Birth date
– Security pin
-> Click ‘Submit’.
-> On the agreement page, choose ‘I Agree’ to continue.

Note down the login credentials shown on the screen.
Create a password and set a security question to protect your account.

Step 2 – Submission of Personal Details

-> Enter your personal details:
– Mother’s name
– Father’s name
– Your address
-> Click ‘Submit’

You can’t change this information later
Make sure these details match the documents you’ll use for admission

Step 3 – Payment for Counselling

Registration and Tuition Fees:

Registration Fee (Non-Refundable):
-> 15% AIQ and Central Universities:
– UR candidates: INR 1,000
– Other categories: INR 500 (assumed)
-> Deemed Universities: All categories: INR 5,000

Tuition Fee (Refundable):
->15% AIQ and Central Universities:
– UR candidates: INR 10,000
– SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates: INR 5,000

Payment can be made online using a Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.

Step 4 – Registration Slip

After submitting your details, you’ll see a registration slip on the screen. Print this slip as you’ll need it later. Click ‘Login’ to continue.

Step 5 – Available Choices

-> The ‘Available Choices’ link activates when counseling begins.
-> You’ll see available options and their yearly fees on the left side of the screen.
-> If you pay fees for both 15% AIQ/Central Universities and Deemed Universities, you can apply for seats in both categories.

Step 6 – Selecting the choices

-> Click ‘+’ next to each preference to select choices.
-> Selected choices move from left to right side of the screen.
-> Use ‘Save & Continue’ to proceed or ‘Save & Go to Home Page’ to exit.
-> Adjust choices: Arrow buttons: Move choice up or down
-> Delete button: Remove choice
-> Drag and drop: Reorder choices
-> Click ‘Save & Continue’ when done.

Step 7 – Choice Locking

For NEET UG 2024 counseling:
-> Locking your choices is optional.
-> You can change your preferences until the deadline.
-> If you don’t lock your choices: The choices you’ve filled will be considered final.
-> They will automatically lock on the announced date.

Step 8 – Take a Printout

-> Print your filled choices. This may help you later in the NEET UG counseling process.
-> If you haven’t locked your choices yet, you can still print them after locking is done.

Step 9 – Seat Allotment

-> After each counseling round, seat allotment results are announced.
-> Results include a seat allotment list and letter.
-> The list shows the candidate’s name and roll number
-> Allotted and candidate’s category
-> Assigned college, quota, and course
-> The seat allotment letter is crucial for college admission.
-> Candidates must bring this letter and other required documents when reporting to their assigned college.

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA):

For 2024 Karnataka NEET counseling:

Post allotment procedure

KEA conducts at least 4 rounds of counseling for MBBS admission in Karnataka private colleges.

Post-allotment process:

  • P category students: May submit documents at the KEA counseling center.

Seat allocation rules:

  • If you don’t report after the first round, you can join the second round.
